If you find corrosion around the battery terminals, clean the terminals and the cables thoroughly. To do this, just mix a little baking soda with water and use a toothbrush to carefully brush around the cable connectors. If corrosion is excessive, replace the cables. Every person body composition is different and depending on who you are you can stop a heart with as little as .003 amps. Voltage isn't what hurts you it is the current (amps). If you use Ohms law and figure in resistance of your body from nipple to nipple then you can figure out what you are subjecting your heart with the amperage.
