skydivermom 0 #1 October 13, 2005 Wow! I just got some incredible news today! My husband's company offered him a transfer to the Austin/San Antonio area and we decided to go for it. We lived in New Braunfels for the first five years of our marriage and have been in the Houston area for almost six years. So we've been away long enough to truly appreciate it! (fellow Houstonians, please don't take offense; the scenery difference is startling) Oh and one more important bonus, my Mom lives in the areaAnyway, we haven't told anyone in the family yet and I'm just dying to share the news. This means I will be able to jump at my favorite dz, SSM. Of course I will have to stay behind and sell the house so I'm going to finish my SL training here. So all of you SSM jumpers; I will see you soon! Please keep us in your thoughts.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:

ladyhawke 0 #3 October 13, 2005 Austin is the best place to live! I love it here! Are you working with a realtor yet?"It is our choices that show what we truly are far more than our abilities." - A. Dumbledore
Channman 2 #4 October 13, 2005 Thats because of all them there years you flew the jump plane at SSM. Well Skydivermom, hope the house sales fast, just like a man to leave the women to handle all the hard stuff. I hope there is a whole lot of equity in it so you can put a pile of cash on the new one. Cheers
skydivermom 0 #5 October 13, 2005 We are not going to use a realtor this time. We are selling the house on our own (not looking forward to that) and are not planning on buiyng when we move out there. We are going to save for a few years. I know rent is not cheap but owning a home has been a real nightmare for us! I don't care where we live, I just can't wait to hang out and jump at SSM!Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
skydivermom 0 #6 October 13, 2005 ***I hope there is a whole lot of equity in it so you can put a pile of cash on the new one. __________________________________________________ We have almost six years worth, and our taxes have gone up so much in that time that it is appraised at much higher than we paid for it. We are not going through a realtor so will be able to make quite a profit I'm sure. I am not looking forward to the nightmare of selling a house all by myself. My husband picked it out and bought it all by himself so I guess it's my turn. Oh, and he'll be staying with his mother-in-law until the house sells so I guess I have the better deal! Just kidding, my mom is great! Thanks for all the good vibes.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
Channman 2 #7 October 13, 2005 Kathleen, I've noticed from your profile you sign. My wife was a child of deaf parents, and she now provides interpreter services through out the state for the Texas Rehabilitation Services. She grosses well into the 6 fixures and because she has a contract with the State of Texas she contracts out 8-16 women that help her provide services from students in school to hospitals, law firms and courts. Big need in the San Antonio area, might look into it. Lic. level one interpreter can earn as much as 18-20 per hour with travel time and level 3 and up earn well over 50 per hour. skydivermom 0 #8 October 13, 2005 Wow! I really hadn't thought about making money doing it. I only got into it because my oldest son has a deaf friend so we decided to make sign language a part of our homeschooling, but I did fall in love with it. My three year old knows a lot of signs too. I'm sure I would need a lot more training and practice before I could get a job doing it, but since I'm a woman I imagine getting financial aid would not be difficult. There is a university in San Marcos. Thanks a bunch for the idea. When I'm done with my skydiving training and we get settled, I want to look into that.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
