Contrasts…………………………… it’s the same only different?

One of the most amazing and bewildering phenomena to me is the contrast in the perspective of an event, depending on the participants, or each participants viewpoint.

For example,

….falling asleep and waking up next to someone with whom you don’t feel a connection (or maybe even find objectionable) can be one of the most excruciatingly painful and uncomfortable incidents on the planet… to the point where you’d like to turn yourself inside-out to avoid skin contact.

… but when falling asleep and that connection is there… slight touching, lips on neck spooning, or just the presence when awakening… could be the most exquisite experience into which we stumble.

How many other experiences have this kind of opposite-pole based on viewpoint?
