I'VE BEEN TRYING FORGET THE FACT THAT IT IS A SIMPLE GAME OF NUMBERS, and the fact that there was an open base to put one of the biggest hitters in the league, and that HE WAS DUE for a hit, and that it was PREDICTABLE.....shall I continue? *#&$^#%& is

Chuck It went from one strike in the bottom of the 9th to an entire game to get there. 1 strike = an entire new game in St Louis not one of the most hospitiple locations to beat the Cards. Channman 2 #12 October 18, 2005 I hear they found that ball rolling down Preston Street in Dallas Texas early this morning. That dude was focused last night, could see it in his eyes he wanted to blast the hell out of that ball. I'm with you Sheri, should have walked him. scaryshari 0 #18 October 18, 2005 those who don't think in baseball numbers, wouldn't have walked him (he was 0-4). What is his batting average? Let's ponder the basis of this number. Then let's think... WHAT IN THE HELL WHERE THEY THINKING??? (where's that prozac) ..he was due, and Rebecca, yes it was in his eyes. He KNEW he was about to rock one. Craig Biggio was the only one in the dugout NOT celebrating in the 8th inning. He apparently knew anything could happen. is

Basically the way I saw it; Garner when to the plate to talk it over with Lidge. Probably asked him how he felt and if he had enough in him to strike Albert out. Lidge felt he had it in him to do it. So Garner gave him the green light to pitch to him. It was a tough spot to be in the next guy up only needed a single to score 2 RBIs with the bases loaded. Could go on an on about this or that.. it's over and we've got 2 games in hostile territory to win one. Remember this is the exact same place we were last year. Heading to St Louis with a 1 game lead only needing 1 win to end it. Cards beat us 2 games in a row. Slappie 9 #22 October 18, 2005 sinker you keep jumping up an down about Pujhols. He's an egotistical asshole. A lot of the Cards players are just like him. If you knew the players on the Astros you wouldn't find any of them out there for themselves. They're out there for the team. There is a big difference in those teams. You seem to be praising an fucking jerk for something he should have been doing the entire series. Which he hasn't because he's come up against talent he's not used to facing. So keep patting that asshole on the back. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure you won't be gloating in this thread come Thurday morning. I don't care much for him as a person either, but the hit was magnificant.
