Lexus Help!

Recommended Posts

I have an older Lexus SC300.
Yesterday coming into work after turning on Defrost (Front/rear) radio and all other electrical devices, the Alternator light came on.
The car gets me to work and all is well, I was even able to get home. I checked the battery and apparently is supplying all the power without being recharged.
The alternator is fairly new so I decided to check and make sure all the fuses were ok. I cannot find the fuse panel!:|
I went to check the Owners manual and it is missing.:|
Does anyone know where the fuse panel on a 96-96 Lexus SC 300 is?

I looked pretty carefully at all the usual locations.
I did not see an access on the drivers side knee locations and even further underneath the dash. No access in the glove box or passenger side either.
I checked under the hood near firewalls and such. (May have to look more carefully there.)

Thanks a million$
I looked pretty carefully at that area, they must have done a fantastic job of blending it in to the interior. I'll check these as soon as I get home. If this safes me a trip to the shop I will definitely be buying you a jump. Thanks again - Daniel

IF all the electrical components are working, the fuse box is the last place I would be looking at .... Have you considered checking the tension on the alternator belt? While at it, check the connector into the alternator, pull the connector out, inspect the position of the wires at the connector, are the wires all the way in ?

Checked that first. (Connectors, belt etc). I have checked the battery connectors, the power drain, power charging-Not charging. The very next thing was Fuses for the charging system-If thats not it it will probably be the alternator:(

You can drive into any Sears or other place that Sells batteries and they will check the electrical system for free! I wouldn't have them fix it, but the free diagnostic will put you on the rigth track !
