:(:(:(:(

Steven,

A little patience goes a long way.

This isn't like chatting. Sometimes a person's post will sit for several days before someone answers; other times, a thread will take off and a lot of people will post at once. But not everyone here has time to sit in front of the computer all day responding to posts.

I understand the need for interaction, but sometimes it's better to concentrate on making your own posts the very best they can be so that others find them interesting and informative, and therefore feel compelled to respond.

Have you ever read any Temple Grandin?

am i boring or something

No - it's what RhondaLea said. I'm at work, so I pop in and out, sometimes at longer intervals. I know it sucks when you get a good flow going, and then it stops, but that's the way it is around here.

Don't take it personally. :)

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

Steven, as Rhonda pointed out, most of the time threads just run their course or people leave their computer. You don't need to post to your thread again to see if anyone is paying attention to it. If it gets too off topic (like this one is getting to be) and people keep posting to it, it might get locked like the other one did.

Also, if you want to talk to someone and ask personal questions, please use the pm function, not the forums. If someone hasn't answered you right away, they will see the red message indicator when they come back to their computer. You'll just have to be patient and find something else to occupy you in the meantime.

And using PMs with moderation and good taste is always a plus.:|

I don't think 'he' was offended. I talk with 'him' in PM's.

You are right... we mean what we say...but we aren't mean about what we say. That's what I am trying to help him understand.

For those who would like to know more

Another factor.. and I am sorry the thread was closed before we could share more..is that no matter how old you are or what you carry to these forums..if you are going to post then you play by the rules.

I think this is a good experience for us all~~

Thanks for the link, I am looking forward to finding out more, I have thought for years that Aspergers is the answer to what my father in law has been dealing with for years.
Brilliant man, spent years as a principal of a grade school, but can't deal much in the here and now. Never could.
I want to learn more so that I can relate better to him, and others like him.

Behaviorally speaking, Asperger's also resembles some of the personality disorders. Aspies are hardwired for lack of empathy, but their reaction to being confronted with their failure to empathize is not the same as that of a sociopath, narcissist or schizoid.

I'm impressed w/ your knowledge of this syndrome, it's characteristics, relationships to characterological disorders, etc. Quite enlightening, I hope you continue!

Had to take kids to the dentist and all..so back to this now.

I have family who I believe are close to this syndrome. But female not male is about the only difference in what I see at home.

I'm very curious that Asperger's is characterized with "anger and misery." WHY is that?

remember... patience... in most part of the country right now, people are having dinner, getting their families ready for bed, talking on the phone, watching tv, etc... not necessarily here posting...
