JeepDiver 0 #1 October 20, 2005 recently my workplace computer has had a web filtering system installed so I am not able to access the site at all. is there anyway around this other than the obivious "not using my workplace computer" to access the site? This is the return I get and it has effected other sites which I like to view..... I know I should be working instead. "Your organization's Internet use policy restricts access to this web page at this time. Reason: The Websense category "Streaming Media" is filtered." Is the blockage due to the META tag within the html code?
mnealtx 0 #2 October 20, 2005 The site has been listed in Websense's blocklists as a streaming media site. It's blocked at my work too... Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

DeepThought 0 #5 October 20, 2005 There probably are ways around, but they will probably end up with you breaking your company policies, which could end up with you losing your job. It could even, as you live in the USA (which you jokingly call the land of the free, but every one else calls the land of the repressed) be breaking the Digital Millenium Copyright Act of 1998, which could land you in prison. -------------------------------------------------- You only have one life, make the most of it. pilotdave 0 #7 October 20, 2005 Doubt it'll work, but you can try http://sdm.crocker.com. BTW, looks like the streaming media category is available to websense customers for an additional charge. No wonder why I can still get to my site from work... http://www.websense.com/global/en/ProductsServices/MasterDatabase/URLCategories.php Dave

tso-d_chris 0 #12 October 20, 2005 QuoteTry this http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/Macintosh/osx/default.aspx That works adequately for downloadable files, but if they are not downloadable, WMV files are not supported. Is there a trick I'm missing? My browser is Shiira, but it is based on and renders pages like Safari.

kelpdiver 2 #15 October 20, 2005 umm...you're walking on pretty thin ice here. It's not all that hard to scan the proxy logs for .wmv. They may just have set up the filter as good enough and ignored these logs, or they may be militant types.

Right click the download button, or use your silly function key if you have a single function mouse, and click Save Target As or the equivalent mac function.
