shropshire 0 #26 October 24, 2005 Once again - sorry I was wrong. Like you, when were out, people are 'amazed' when the girls do as they're told.. whilst their little darlings are all over the place.... I'm more 'amazed' that they let theirs get away with the behaviour... Just took time... we were prepared to spend it, they aren't. Regards, (.)Y(.) skycat 0 #27 October 24, 2005 No need to apoligize, I'm just glad you were open to listening to other peoples point of views. The collar isn't right for everyone and it was the last option I had before my boy went back to the shelter, so I wasn't offended I just wanted to make sure you had more knowledge about the collar. Your girls are so cute, they remind me of my girl she is easy and softer training methods worked great for her. Here are some pics of Sherpa (my crazy man) at obediance class. As you can tell once he is told to go play he only has one speed....FAST!!Fly it like you stole it!
flyangel2 2 #28 October 24, 2005 QuoteSorry Never meant to cause any offence -Really. Thank you. My dog, like Kelli's has a mind of his own. Most times when we are out, I don't even have to touch the remote, as he now listens to me. I believe he is happier, I know he is safer, now that he is listening to commands. Shamrock is the only dog that I've had, that I had to go the e-collar training. And like Kelli and Derek both, I test the e-collar on myself before it goes on him before our morning walks.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Broke 0 #29 October 24, 2005 How about this put her in the kennel, and see how long it takes her to start barking... then do it again and again and each time the dog goes longer without barking give a doggie treat. Through positive reinforcement the dog should be out of this habit. of you can just dig down like 4 feet all arounf yor property line under your fence and fill it with concreatDivot your source for all things Hillbilly. TrophyHusband 0 #30 October 24, 2005 great article, thank you for the link. emma is crate trained, but i've never thought about putting her in her crate when we leave for short periods. usually if i won't be gone long, i take her with me. now that the weather is cooler, i can leave her in the truck when i go into a store. you are absolutely right, she is just bored and lonely and trying to let somebody know. skycat 0 #33 October 24, 2005 Quoteyou are absolutely right, she is just bored and lonely and trying to let somebody know. Try the kong with goodies inside, it's hours of entertainment for Sherpa and he is a dog that gets bored easy. Also might want to get special chew toys that she only gets when she is in the crate that way being in the crate while you are gone is a good thing since there is all this neat stuff she doesn't normally get. Sherpa stays in his crate all the time when no one is home and he doesn't mind one bit. To him the crate is a good safe place that he would rather be in if his people aren't there. He is much much calmer in it than if he was free in the house.Fly it like you stole it!

adrenalinejunki 0 #35 October 24, 2005 My neighbor had a problem like that. I had just got home from work one night around 4 am and heard him solve the problem. His method really worked to, only took 1 time. BARK BARK BARK POW........silence..... __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen?
