I'll tell you who's so damn good at choking... The damn Atlanta Braves!! The White Sox haven't won since 1917. Astros haven't won since... oh yeah, they've never won yet... I can't decide who I want to win, so I don't care... no wonder the ratings are way down from last year when the Red Sox made it..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

ChasingBlueSky 0 #16 October 24, 2005 QuoteSox got into the World Series cheating.. now they've got another game win via cheating. Fuck the sox, same bullshit different year. sigh, figured someone would say that. How is a home plate ump making a call cheating? Dye admitted in the locker room that it hit the bat, FoxTV showed the play for nearly an hour straight as well. The calls have been terrible the entire post season - just ask the Cards about that from the last series. I also don't think that a bases loaded, 2 out grand slam off of one of the best relievers in baseball (Qualls) is cheating either. I also don't think a walk-off homer from possibly the best closer in baseball as cheating either. I don't think Crede putting out MVP performance at Third stopping a half dozen plays is cheating either. The Astros have a great team - that was a close game because they never gave up. The talent is there for them to turn the tables, so don't be sore....we are still very worried here in Chicago. There is a lot of baseball left to play Nonetheless....holy shit the Sox are up 2-0!!!! Finally the Sox are the favored team in this city, and you have no idea how good that feels. White Sox Baseball: Win. Or Die Trying. (oh yea, Don't stop believing....) Not a bad weekend for Chicago either - Notre Dame wins, Blackhawks win, Northwestern wins and the Bears win!! Not even the weather got to me this weekend. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... That one call was the difference between a clean win and a cheap win. [sarcasm]Dye admitting it didn't hit him shows some real honesty.[/sarcasm] Like I've told all the other bandwagon jumpers. Welcome to Houston, hope you enjoy your stay. Let me introduce you to the 10th Astros.. Meet Minutemaid Park home of the 176db fans. Oh ya and no DH in the National league. I have to give it to my Stros, they've shown heart and continue to battle back beyond all odds. You won't win this without a fight. They've got to be the scrappiest team in baseball. Letting it 'slide' then coming back later and saying the ball didn't hit him, doesn't seem to damned honest to me! Yeah, I know... when it's the world series and you're behind... yadda, yadda. I get a little 'excited' seeing the Astros where they are. I guess if, he had tried to tell the ump different, the rest of the Sox team and the City of Chicago, would've had his ass. Totally, un-realistic on my part. I got to agree with you though, the Astros are a damned good team with a lot of fight and 'scrap' in them. It's not like the Sox pounded the piss out of the 'stros. ChasingBlueSky 0 #23 October 24, 2005 I'm not sure if I read your post wrong - but in the locker room for the Chicago media Dye said "Yea, it hit the bat. Do I know what it hit first? No. But the replay shows it hitting the bat first. Should have been a foul ball." In fact, all the Sox players admitted to that. Still have it on Tivo. NL/DH, blah blah blah, etc. Either way the game is played I enjoy it. Just because play style and strats are different in either league doesn't make one better than the other. It does, however, seem to afford plenty of people to act as elitists when it comes to the sport. I never get into the argument over it because it's useless and most won't listen. I wouldn't care either way if the league changed the DH rule to add it to the NL or to remove it from the AL. As long as the fundamentals of the game are still there I will keep coming back. As far as Minute Maid park - why would you build a hill in center field? Texas is flat - why add that? Call me an elitist but you would think that a typical configuration would be....logical?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
