azureriders 0 #28 October 28, 2005 haha, like trafic on plank is not bad enough already. I have not been up that way since they have been moving in all the refugees, but I hear it is bumper to bumper all the time. I am suprised he got it down with no injuries, then he screws up the take off,
rickjump1 0 #29 October 28, 2005 What ever punishment the FAA does to this guy, it will be nothing in comparison to what a simple news report has already done. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
Beerlight 0 #30 October 28, 2005 QuoteYea, he will have his ass handed to him by the FAA. Should have happened prior to allowing the guy to take off from the highway, and his failure to insure the highway was cleared and that he could operate the aircraft in a safe manner. IFR requirements require the PIC to plan enough fuel for the intended flight, fuel to the altenate airport if required and 45 min. remaining at normal cruise flight. Should have his lic. revoked for 6 mths with additional training when placed back on flight status. My .02 pennies. Channman, you are such a hardass.......hahahaha! Now, haven't we "all" run outta gas at least once.....?? See you at work........ Buck

freeflir29 0 #32 October 28, 2005 Wow.............I hope they permanently revoke that jackass' flight certificate AND his driver's license. He is obviously too stupid to be out in public unattended.
MC208B 0 #33 October 28, 2005 I knew a crop duster pilot that cracked up after landing on a road in Texas, pulling into a gas station, gassed up and hit a phone pole. Mind you, he was a cropduster pilot tho
wartload 0 #34 October 28, 2005 Pure negligence, although the guy was also probably too nervous about all the cameras, etc., to be concentrating adequately. I've landed (intentionally, and with clearance) on roads before--and taken off. In one case, two of us were flying search in a swampy area and needed to get walkie talkie from the local cops so that we could talk with their boats. We landed on a 2-lane country road with phone poles along the side. Had the fire guys dig up a speed sign as a precaution before the takeoff. Missed the phone poles by about 4' the whole takeoff roll and landing, but that's the whole point.
downwardspiral 0 #35 October 28, 2005 QuoteQuoteThat's a scary notion. I'm glad the DMV is smarter than that. I wouldn't be so sure..... The freedom of information act has made that availiable. http://www.license.shorturl.com/ HAh! Seriously. Bad people can make bad things happen to good people with such easily retrieved information. My imagination is running wild with the possibilities. I wonder how many aircraft owners are even aware of this. Ever googled you home phone number?www.FourWheelerHB.com
