skymedic 0 #6 October 31, 2005 Not all L39's are trainers...some countries use them as ground attack planes. But that is definately an L39. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
ccowden 0 #7 October 31, 2005 Since I really doubt that one is used as an attack plane, I guess it was safe to say it IS an L39 Trainer.

Looks like a rocket pod on the left wing hard point. Many planes can do double duty, trainer one day, attack aircraft the next. Just depends what you hang on them. Many of the early air attacks in Vietnam were done with T-28 trainers, with trainees flying them.

PhreeZone 20 #11 October 31, 2005 Don Kerlin of WFFC fame imports and rebuilds L-39's and various MiG's. If you want a ride in any of them or if you've got the $$ he'll sell you one. Snowwhite 0 #23 November 1, 2005 QuoteQuoteIs that a Hawk? Nope I believe it is an L39 trainer. An L 39 is a Czech made fighter jet. They are used in training our (USA and Canadian) fighter pilots how to fight better, but technically, they are really not trainers. They can be armed, and some of them have nice ejection seats, that really work..skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
