flefly 0 #5 November 1, 2005 wow, dosen't it just fill you with joy and happiness to know that we can blow shit up and render areas of the Earth uninhabitable just to find out how much destruction we could cause in one go if needed. are'nt we a bunch of clever self serving mammals .....makes you proud to be human ! bch7773 0 #6 November 1, 2005 I'm not too worried about blowing up useless tracts of uninhabited desert is the size of those craters indicative of a fission or fusion(H-bomb) bomb? MB 3528, RB 1182
flefly 0 #7 November 1, 2005 i will always struggle to arrive at the conclusions that; atomic bombs = good uninhabited desert = useless its the intent of death and destruction and ruining nature for our own ends that just kinda gets in the way. Obviously if i were a rich shareholder in a defence contractor i'd think differently......because i'd be a complete arse...."Message from the dark side, there is" Yoda
billvon 3,107 #8 November 1, 2005 >I'm not too worried about blowing up useless tracts of uninhabited desert . . . I would suspect you've never been to the desert. Don't worry the bomb that made those craters are long gone obsolete. They've got shit 1 million times more powerfull and much less big an bulkly... there now way smaller then what was needed during the years of those test. kjarv 0 #15 November 1, 2005 If you're ever in Las Vegas, you can actually get a tour of the Nevada Test Site, and of the large crater---it's very impressive up close and personal, and is still technically 'hot' (I don't remember how much over background radiation it was) http://www.nv.doe.gov/nts/tours.htm The large crater is the 'sedan' crater. They were testing the feasibility of building Canals using nuclear weapons. Nukes are amazing engineering feats, remember weapons don't kill people---people kill people. -kjarv

I believe the only fusion test was Operation Ivy I believe the year was 1954, but I might be off. Those are only fission bombsDivot your source for all things Hillbilly.
