Feeblemind 1 #1 November 4, 2005 Hey All, I try not to be a drama king, but my family and I could use some positive vibes. A week and a half ago my my mom became short of breath and ended up in the hospital. Well things were much worse than we all thought. She has been in the ICU for the last two days, just been taken off a venitlator, during the last 10 days she has had three evasive proceedures as well as two surgeries. I am accustomed to being the one who helps others and now I am helpless. There is nothing I can do but be supportive for my father and hold my mothers hand. tigra 0 #6 November 4, 2005 Hopefully, she's on the mend now. Breathing on her own is a good sign, right? BTW- I think regardless of gender, the term is Drama Queen! But I don't think you're being one, just a concerned family member! You're doing all the right things, just hang in there!

mcneill79 0 #15 November 4, 2005 Hey sweetie, Like Lisa said being there for your mom and dad is helping in ways you can't easily see. Just knowing someone is there to lean on makes a huge difference. Virtual hugs coming your way and I'll give you a huge hug next time I see you. Feeblemind 1 #16 November 4, 2005 Just got back from the hospital. Mom had a rough night and was sleeping when I got here. I sat for a bit, but didn't want to wake her up as she needs her rest. She still has 5 IV's and her heart rate is alittle high (probabley her body working overtime to kill the intruders). Nurse says she is doing much better though and should be out of ICU tonight or tomorrow. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
