pincheck 0 #2 November 3, 2005 well that takes model building to a new level what kind of glue is he using no really cool project, restorations of older aircraft are more interesting than seeing new ones Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
piisfish 140 #3 November 3, 2005 yep that's a cool model indeed... Let's see if Prof. Kallend chimes in on this one He worked on several restorations, but this one is brand new, 7/8 scale... Wonder what is the advantage of 7/8 and not full scale. Are the forces applied, costs etc THAT different ??scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

kidicarus 0 #16 November 4, 2005 Please tell your friend to be careful with this. One of my good friends died in a very well constructed P51 replica. It was professionally engineered and airframe wise was beautiful.; The only thing that makes me feel good about your project is the Russian radial. Roger's project used a converted Ford auto engine with gear reduction. Just tell your friend that if the prop goes flat below 1000 feet to just stuff the stick and ride it in. If Roger had done this he would probably still be around to give you better advice than I am now.
