SkymonkeyONE 4 #1 November 3, 2005 Well, I have spent two afternoons out at the dropzone playing around with my new RC plane. I piled it in pretty hard four times today (out of seven flights) and only broke it bad enough on the last try that I could not give it another whirl. What great fun! I flew the damn thing right into a tree one time when I flew it out of radio range. It's pretty amazing how resiliant my plane is. It's an AeroBird Extreme fully-aerobatic electric. It was a tad too windy to fly this plane, but I simply could not quit. Into the wind it wanted to stall on me unless I was trimmed down a bit. It actually hammer-headed on me a couple of times with me being able to fly out of it cleanly (thankfully) before I piled it in on a lesser maneuver. It barrel rolled on me once when I held the rudder over for too long (it's a V-tail) and I got away with that once too! What fun. I went by the hobby store and bought an extra wing and tail "just in case". Chuck

Ashtanga 0 #3 November 3, 2005 Typical Skymonkey. Most dzers go with the Zagi and Chuck buys the turbine RC Plane that's almost indestructable. Love ya Chuck.
pincheck 0 #4 November 3, 2005 Its funny this should be mentioned there is a remote control club who fly remote control planes at the end of our run way and sometime pickup off landings. Some of the things they do are quite amazingand fun to watch Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun

Oddly, and totally by coincidence Tim Tennant has the exact same airplane and it's on a different channel so we won't have problem flying them together. It's fun. chuck

soberamprat 0 #9 November 3, 2005 here at skydive tecumseh there are a few fliers. the pocket combat wing electric is the choice because it is pretty much unbreakable when you knock your bud out of the sky. http://www.swoopstudios.com/videos/videos-rex.php

bob.dino 1 #12 November 3, 2005 Streamers. Get two paper streamers, attach them to the tails of your aircraft with a couple of metres of thread. Winner is the first person to cut all the streamer off his opponents aircraft.
kbordson 8 #13 November 4, 2005 Evening! You sthould try one of there birds... http://www.modelflight.com.au/hobbyzone/f-27_striker.htm Snappy, nearly indestructible, and relatively cheap.... great fun to crash!
Deuce 1 #14 November 4, 2005 MonoUno, I've been reading your posts and PM's for years. This is definitely the most you've ever used the word "fun" in any thread. That chick you hang out with is clearly paying attention in the "what to get the monkey" department. It does sound like fun. You going to go the helicopter route too, eventually? Dougjumper 0 #17 November 4, 2005 Chuck, check out this guy flying this RC airplane. Man, this guy is pretty darn good. Chris would fly some of his stuff at the DZ quite a bit. I believe his dad owned a RC store somewhere in Nashville. http://media5.big-boys.com/content/rcpilot1.wmv
kevin922 0 #18 November 4, 2005 Chuck! How crazy, I just picked up my first RC aircraft - a blade CP helicopter. I've crashed the shit out of it numerous times.. it is pretty good at handling crashes, though I will tell you some of them were so bad that i've replaced just about every part on the heli. Took me a few days to learn how to hover it - I fly it in my house a good bit. Pretty slick, runs on batteries. see pic. Edit: just looked up the plane you bought, it is made by the same company that made my Heli....

TEB6363 0 #20 November 4, 2005 Incode.. That's a good clip of Allan Jr. flying the Raptor 90.. Last march Alan and family was here in Fresno for a helicopter event.. I've been flying them since 2000.. After we finished a demo jump into the event and then did a couple of r/c helicopter flights, I took Alan Jr out to Madera Parachute Center for a Tandem.. He had a blast and was very aware.. He's also a full-scale rotory wing pilot.. The only problem with R/C is every time something new is out.. I gotta have it Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

dustin19d 0 #24 November 4, 2005 Wana talk about resiliant, one of the UAV's im qualified to fly is designed to be crash landed. It busts apart on landing, you snap it back togeather and up you go. The best part of it is you can spy on people at night with the thermal cam built into it
