firstime 0 #1 May 29, 2008 I think Rare dynamics makes this product. My question is can the voices be transmitted to the ground hence be transmitted to public radio. We are doing a fund raiser and one of the guys@ the radio station will do a tandem and thought that a live voice would be pretty interesting to the listeners. Just trying to add some glitz to the event.
bigway 4 #2 May 29, 2008 I rather just use the middle finger to say all i have to say while in freefall, the middle finger and the smile on my face says evertyhing that needs to be said while falling through the sky at 160mph towards the big green monster. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . bigway 4 #3 May 29, 2008 On A serious note, I have done many radio stations promotions. One of them actually won the NZ radio awards. Anyway, we strapped a microphone to an MP# player to record everything. We put the MPS player on the tandem inside the jumpsuit with the microphone wired through his sleeve of the jumpsuit. We got all the sound effects and all of everything while he was screaming, wahooing etc as well as the freefall noise. This in my opinion is better than what you are talking about for what you want cause it gives the listner the reality of the freefall noise as well as everything he is saying in freefall. If you use what you are talking about then everything is noise cancellation and that will take away from the realism. Also, they cost a fortune when a normal microhphone does not. Sure, in freefall you will not hear what another person is saying but you will when you use a simpl recording device in their sleeve. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . firstime 0 #4 May 29, 2008 hey bigway, thanks for the reply, sounds like a great alternative as I was was getting some negative results with the other system. We will "bench test" this and if it works I will... I am going on record now.. send you a "pint or a case" of your fancy.

councilman24 37 #6 May 29, 2008 You may get some other responses but... Call Allen Silver at Silver Parachtue Sales (google it yourself). IIRC he did/does airshow announcing starting by jumping in with an air to ground mike. Or call Wink at Aerohio. He did/does use mikes on the tandem students with receivers on the camera guy's camera. Gets "live" audio from the JM and student on the students video. Maybe not so much in freefall but certainly clear in under canopy. He used to use relatively inexpensive wireless mikes. I know because I bought a set like he was using 10 years ago. If enough range could work for your event. Just try out one of the stations lavalier mics under the passenger jumpsuit. Not so much to hear in freefall anyway. Skip the noise cancelling stuff.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
