kansasskydiver 0 #1 November 10, 2005 I'm kind of in a time crunch but wondering if anyone has or knows of a link or article or anything else for that matter that has a good description of the dynamics of ram air parachutes and how they work, from lift to stalls etc etc etc. I've found bits and pieces that relate, but nothing specific to ram air canopies. I'm not being lazy, just really asking if anyone can help me out while I have to work on other things Thanks in advance<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! Broke 0 #5 November 10, 2005 The ram air canopy essentially becomes an air foil which is the design that airplane wings and helo rotors are designed as. do a search for air foil. The thing that causes lift is the fact that airflow above the wing is faster than the airflow on the bottom side of the wing. The only reasion that skydivers go down instead of up is because skydivers lack thrust.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly.
