gravitysucks 0 #26 November 10, 2005 QuoteThanks all... I was wondering if I was gonna get a buncha "they are all quacks" responses but not one thus far... Sounds like it's kinda like I thought: Good for some, maybe not for all, use in moderation if you are comfortable with it. If you find a good one and you're happy with the care you get.... cool. But you probably would have been better off going to physical therapy. Just an observation: there isn't a single school of chiropractic associated with a public school of medicine in the US. I also looked and couldn't find any affiliated with private medical schools. They accredit themselves (CCE US) as opposed to other medical professions which are accredited by an outside entity (JCAHO).

MDs do not have a monopoly on education or learning. DO schools are not necessarily associated with MD schools. I'm an optometrist, went to a school not affiliated with an MD school. Didn't limit my skills or experience at all. Still interned in the hospital setting (VA hospitals) Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
jumpchikk 0 #28 November 11, 2005 I had my first chiropractor experience today. I was amazed at the popping that came out of my body. I got up from that table and I could barely talk much less walk. I feel a lot better, but now I have a HUGE headache. I go back tomorrow for another adjustment and we are going to talk about my "longterm" treatment. This should be interesting considering what my x-rays revealed today.
sheloopy 0 #29 November 11, 2005 I've been to 3 chiropractors in the last 4 years. Two of the 3 have been outstanding. The other one not so much (ie don't ask GoatBoy for a referral ) - Cheryl
JENNR8R 0 #30 November 11, 2005 I go to my chiropractor every four weeks for insurance. She likes to tell people that she makes sure that I can see my altimeter. I definitely have more range of motion in my neck than before I started going. I also go to the gym three days a week for upper body strength training. That immediately helped with nagging back pain too. Two days a week I do deep-water aerobics and never jump without stretching first. All of the above just to make sure that I can continue to skydive. It's working. I never miss a weekend. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
