So today I cought an old episode of MacGuyver on Spike, and aparently in this episode they did a tandem base jump... crazy stuff. Although it looks like he had a dummy attacked to him and not an actuall person. Just thought it was worth mentioning

I caught the same episode. The one where he uses a flare gun to launch the tandem off of the cliff. I don't know if I would call that a tandem, more like a base Mr. Bill. With an opening like the one they had, I doubt it would really work. I love Hollywood.

That was a hilarious episode, it came on about 6 months ago (back when I was at the house in the afternoons on some days). I found it hilarious that the opposing army would have a camp on top of a spire or whatever it was.

Anyways, MacGuyver had a good handful of skydiving type stunts in it. There's also another episode where he falls out of a wheel well of a DC-3 (if I remember correctly), maybe it was a different plane. He had his rig just on his shoulders (no chest strap or leg straps) but some how deployed, stayed in the harness and had no problems what so ever.

I caught an oooold episode of Simon & Simon (does anyone even know that show) on TBS or something 2 years ago. It was centered around a guy who was an "exper" skydiver that had an accident. It was freakin hilarious. Never saw the MacGuyver episode though.

Yeah, I saw that this morning. Apparently I like to watch the 3 Stooges at 8 AM, then 7 Days at 9 AM and finally McGyver at 10 AM...

From what I could see on TV, the rescued pilot just hangs on like a Mr Bill up close, but from the farther point of view, I only see one jumper under canopy...

Could never get into the show...."hey I can make a bomb out of chewing gum and some wire!!!" Yeah, NOT!!
I don't know...maybe some of his "tricks" really do work in the "real" world, but some of them just seem a little far fetched.

They did the same thing on the season premier of Alias.

Syd and Vaughn run to cliff, enemy closing in. She's in couture. Her cell rings, which of course she answers. She turns to Vaughn, who's fiddling with a strap of something, and says, "I'm pregnant".

They share one look before she just grabs onto him as he leaps off the cliff - no delay, insta-canopy, and they are magically out of bullet range.

I love that show.
