I actually have kept a note in my wallet at times that starts "Well, THIS sucks!!".

Talking with the family and friends and making your wishes clear is a great backup to legal documentation. I was involved in making a final decision about someone in a persistent vegitative state, and it was a relief that everyone was in complete agreement...we just looked at one another and nodded in agreement.

I have a living will and all that stuff.

The ultimate in preparedness is credit cards. I put all my skydiving on credit cards. That way, if I went in, it would be like my last 20 skydives were free ones.

I was just telling my mom the other day that i feel like such a grown up now. I just bought additional insurance for the what if's and have an appt. next month to go over life insurance policies and wills. I don't think I would have done any of this if I hadn't received custody of my little brother.

Since I am single and have no children, my parents are my beneficiaries, with my siblings equally following. My parents and my sister have a copy of my will, life insurance policies and all my financial records. They also are aware of my wishes should I die or become completely incapacitated. They are instructed to follow what the Catholic Church teaches in this manner. I do not want any extraordinary means to keep me alive (I do not believe a feeding tube is extraordinary means).

Nothing I own is of any value other then my rig. All I have are student loans to the bank and government with no cosigners. I figure if I go in while owing them all that money I spent... I won!

Yeah, that's the part I'm most familiar with ... the stretch from Northern Virginia to Eastern Connecticut. Used to drive it all the time to visit my grandparents.
