Pilotman 0 #1 November 13, 2005 Hey all, Me and some Canadian friends are taking a trip down to florida this winter to escape the cold for a week of jumping. As this is my first trip down that way just looking for some ideas on DZ to visit and place that cant be missed. Any and all ideas are welcome. skybytch 273 #3 November 13, 2005 I agree with dgpacker. Definitely put Deland, Zhills and Sebastian on your list of dz's to visit. Deland has a PAC this winter, and lots of manufacturers close to the dz; call ahead and many of them will be happy to give your group a tour of their facilities (great learning experience even if you aren't in the market for new gear). Sebastian is hands down the most beautiful place I've ever jumped. Nice people too. I didn't make it to ZHills when I was in FL but all my friends there say it's a great dz. There are a couple of manufacturers in that area as well.
Derekbox 0 #4 November 13, 2005 If your driving down just go where ever you want. Pretty much within a 3 hour (and maybe a little change) drive you can go from any 1 central Fl dz to any other. Deland Lake Wales Zhills Titusville Sebastian Look up the boogies and events and see where its happening. During Fl season (winter) something somewhere is always happening. alw 0 #5 November 13, 2005 Central Florida Definately - The must jump DZ's Titusville - Skydive Space Center - Highest and fastest to altitude, great relaxed atmosphere. Bunkhouse, view of the space center. Sebastian - Coastal view, good equipment, friendly, and well run. Z-Hills - swoop pond, great pro shop, best place to hang out on the ground, lots of people in the winter. Deland - Well, it's Deland after all. For all the reasons stated and just so you can say you did. And don't forget: Palatka and Lake Wales. If you're here you could really get the flavor of what Florida skydiving is all about. Broke 0 #7 November 14, 2005 Hit all of them... the cool thing about FL is that most DZs there are within a few hours of eachother there are even a couple that are within a half an hour of each other. Isn't there a DZ that does 15kfor 15 bucks on fridays or something like thatDivot your source for all things Hillbilly. freeflir29 0 #8 November 14, 2005 QuoteIsn't there a DZ that does 15kfor 15 bucks on fridays or something like that Titusville was doing that last "season." They have a VERY fast King air so you get there in no time.
