BillyVance 35 #1 November 6, 2005 Whoa... crazy day! #1 USC beats the fuck out of Stanford. No surprise there. #2 Texas beats the holy shit out of Baylor. No surprise there either. #3 Virginia Tech gets beaten badly by #5 Miami. That was surprising. Miami dominated the game big time. I was pulling for Miami to win, probably the only time I've ever pulled for them to win, and may be the last time. I've always hated the 'Canes, but tonight they were my friend. #4 Alabama relies on its special teams and vaunted defense to score TDs to beat a bad Miss State team 17-0 on the road, despite missing a few starters with injuries. I'll take it any way I can get it, but I'm pretty sure we're the worst 9-0 team in recent memory... the win may be costly, since we lost our starting center with a broken leg. Shit... A bad Arizona team with a losing record blows the fuck out of #6 and undefeated UCLA 52-14... where in the hell did that come from?? Holy shit.... N.C. State beats #9 F.S.U. 20-15 on the road in a major upset. Now for one of the biggest surprises of the day - Vanderbilt scores two touchdowns in the final 3 minutes to force overtime at Florida with a successful onside kick to set up the game-tying TD at 35-35! Alas, Vandy throws a game ending interception in the 2nd OT to lose 49-42... wow... So the unbeatens shrink from 5 to 3, with Alabama on the outside looking in. If I were to predict the outcome of Bama's last two games, based on the way we've played the past month, we might play ourselves right out of a SEC west division title. Next Saturday will be a huge test with LSU coming into town. Alabama and LSU could be ranked #3 and #5 respectively. Then comes the season finale at Auburn, who just might be the best 2-loss team in the country right now. You know how offense wins games, but defense will win you championships. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope Bama can shut LSU down enough for us to win. You'll be seeing Alabama ranked #1 in scoring defense in the country after today. But what the scoreboard shows at the end of the game is what matters.... By the way, did anyone know that Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is a football freak? She LOVES the game... weird... Evelyn 0 #6 November 6, 2005 Although I'm not into football my daughter is into it cuz her friend Dennis is like the PR guy or something for USC. He spent last night (I think or maybe the night before) taking a player to jail, waiting for him to be released, then taking him back home. Dunno the details, just know her friend Dennis was really tired tonight. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

BillyVance 35 #11 November 6, 2005 Poor, poor AggieDave... he can't get any luck this year with Texas A&M... Texas Tech beat the fuck out of the Aggies today too... After coach Franchione bolted Alabama for the Texas A&M job 3 years ago, I was really pissed at him. But now... it was a good thing, because we got Shula and a good staff of assistants who have turned the Bama team around, while Texas A&M still suck major balls... I will however, futiley urge the Aggies to beat Texas in a few weeks... BillyVance 35 #14 November 6, 2005 Illinois really sucks major balls... they usually do year after year, I think... Man is the Big 10 pretty even across the top or what? I can't figure which team is the best, but Penn State is the highest ranked one... Could we be seeing an Alabama-Penn State matchup in a bowl game, for old times' sake? First time in 36 years?? I agree, Callahan is a disaster. They should not have forced Solich out. Maybe when they fire Callahan, they'll steal Dennis Franchione from Texas A&M! This is our year and USC doesn't know what they're about to come up against! UT class of '02!!!!!!!
billo 0 #18 November 6, 2005 I really hope you're right! I want UT to slaughter Colorado in the Big 12 conf championship, Iowa State to take #2 in the North and win the Alamo Bowl, and then finally, UT to kill USC in the Rose Bowl. You've got the whole conference rooting behind you! :)

AggieDave 6 #21 November 6, 2005 Yeah, it wasn't a good game by any stretch of the imagination. Our offensive line and our secondary is kinda young and Reggie isn't all that he could be or should be. I think he'd make a good wide-reciever, though. Oh well, *fingers crossed* for the seasons to come.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." You can urge all you want, this won't happen. Yeah, I don't think Texas A&M has a chance in hell... I think the best chance of an upset will be this Saturday when Texas plays Kansas. But then again, Nebraska is a piss-poor example of what they used to be. I will say this though, if Texas finishes the season unbeaten and still #2, I'm pulling for them to kick Southern Cal's ASS! BillyVance 35 #24 November 7, 2005 Did anybody see the AP poll ranking a one-loss Miami barely ahead of Alabama? Not that I particularly agree with it, but we had it coming, basically, we suck right now. Let's hope this sleight by the voters will fire up the team to play their best against LSU this Saturday! At least this time LSU won't be able to get away with any non-called penalty plays with the review rule in effect. Anybody remember last year's game?
