shropshire 0 #1 November 12, 2005 Wow this guy can play.... I dislike the word awesome... but his playing is... I started listening to his stuff a few weeks back (after someone here mentioned him). The studio album that I have, sounds heavily [over]-produced (??) so I couldn't wait to hear some live stuff... Live from AustinTX, came out monday (over here) and is rather good.. Wodya think? . KindredSpirit 0 #2 November 12, 2005 Yes he is really good. A few years ago he did a tour with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani and the resulting live album was amazing. Check it out. http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/1089865/a/G3+Live+In+Concert.htm "Kicking gravity's ass since 2003!"

meltdown 0 #4 November 12, 2005 I saw the Steve Morse band many years ago in Austin, and Eric came up on stage and they traded solos - it was pretty amazing. He's an awesome player, but in my opinion his music is boring, uninspired and overproduced.
cloudseeker2001 0 #5 November 13, 2005 Is this the Austin City Limits live CD? If so, I have not heard it, but seen it at the music store. After spending a little time in a studio watching a friends CD being recorded, I usually only buy live CD's now! shropshire 0 #6 November 13, 2005 <> - Yes it is. I see from the sleeve, that it was recorded at a 1988 gig.... I wonder why it took so long to get onto CD? He must have more recent live gigs that we'd be interested to hear. It's good B.T.W. (.)Y(.)
