ccowden 0 #1 November 13, 2005 I can understand posting how many jumps you did and maybe telling a little about them. So, in turn, maybe saying if you owe beer for a first. But the whole, Humps : Jumps : Cases Owed thing has gotta go. What, are we 16? "Dude! I SO got laid this weekend!" I mean, come on. And if Humps can be replaced by something else significant, why not just say how many jumps you made, and then whether or not any were first or you did something else significant? I just think the whole thing is stupid the way it is now.
NWFlyer 2 #2 November 13, 2005 Just because you're married and never have anything to put in the first column, don't take it out on us single people. Just kidding ... I'm actually inclined to agree that it's pretty much over since there's never very much useful information in that column. Well, unless I'm crushing on someone and a demonstrated pattern of "0" or "" or "" in the first column helps me validate their singleness. kelel01 1 #3 November 13, 2005 But then all of us who never get to jump won't get to post anything. My life goes in cycles . . . I'm either jumping or getting laid, but seldom both or neither. This way I can always participate. Nah, I'd be fine with doing away with it. It's just the way it's always been. Maybe we just needed a level-headed grown-up to start a revolution. But whatever somone might think married life is like for sex, I certainly am not going to post on here if I got laid or not.
ccowden 0 #5 November 13, 2005 Don't you get sick of seeing the same Weekend Numbers thread with the same stupid number columns and smileys? I do. I would be much more inclined to read the thread and post my jumps numbers and stories if it wasn't a bunch of posts like this: : 3 : : : : 6 : : :
jumpchikk 0 #6 November 13, 2005 Yep, it's not anyone's biznazz if I got laid this weekend or how many times I got laid or in what fashion I got laid or with whom. Honestly, I could care less if anyone gets laid this weekend or any weekend for that matter. If ya did, good for you, hope it was a mind-blowing experience! If not, hope it works out better for you next time.
kelel01 1 #7 November 13, 2005 No, I am actually not offended or annoyed by the appearance of emoticons on the computer screen. I am, however, irritated by self-righteousness.
ccowden 0 #8 November 13, 2005 Exactly! And why would anyone want to post that they DID get laid on here? Is anyone impressed? I would like to read about jumps though. But I am not going to wade through the rest of the BS to do it.
ccowden 0 #9 November 13, 2005 You think THIS is being self-righteous?? Whatever.
kelel01 1 #10 November 13, 2005 Yes, I do. It's basically saying that people who post that are "bragging" and somewhat childish. THAT is a self-righteous tone. Maybe we're just laid back.
MikeForsythe 0 #11 November 13, 2005 I think that we need to have a new category called the "kiddie corner" for those who "have" to post their personal life.Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

ccowden 0 #13 November 13, 2005 Ok, You are right then. If saying that posting that you got laid on a forum is somewhat childish, makes me self-righteous, then I guess you are right.

I guess since I said that I don't care if people get laid this weekend or any weekend, I'm in the self-righteous boat with you.
kelel01 1 #15 November 13, 2005 I love it when people patronize me. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, but IMO, your original post was needlessly offensive. It could have been presented much more nicely.
kelel01 1 #16 November 13, 2005 Not really. It's all in how you say it.
ccowden 0 #17 November 13, 2005 Holy crap! "Needlessly offensive"????? Wow. Not even sure how to respond to that one.
kelel01 1 #18 November 13, 2005 Offensive was too harsh a word. I should have said "condescending".

ccowden 0 #21 November 13, 2005 You can respond. Never said you couldn't. I posted my opinion to get responses. So far, you've called me self-righteous, condescending and offensive. If those aren't pesonal attacks, I don't know what is. I never attacked you personally. Just attacked an idea. I was under the impression that this was what the Bonfire was for. kelel01 1 #22 November 13, 2005 Well, since I killed this thread, I'll go ahead and offer a suggestion. There's an easy way to fix it. Next weekend, start the thread first, and just change the format. If people don't like it, they'll let you know. I don't think anyone'll complain, though, as long as it's presented nicely. We're not married to it.
kelel01 1 #23 November 13, 2005 I said those things about YOUR POST. Never did I say any of those about YOU personally. You know the rules as well as I do, so don't try to work that angle. I attacked YOUR idea (or rather, its presentation) as well. That's all. And I was talking to Mike, not you, when I talked about responding in kind.
