I understand that jumpsuits don't exactly fall in with todays fashion trends and we don't order a new one in hopes to make the cover of next months GQ. But some people have taken it too far, last time I checked tye dye went out well over a decade ago, so what reason could someone possibly have for ordering a tye dye jumpsuit? Someone pleeeeeeeeease explain to me what people are thinking when ordering some of the jumpsuits and rigs I see on the DZ. And yes I will take "I was wasted when I ordered it" as an answer, because I myself have been there before and have the embroidery on my rig to prove it

They like them. Buzz used to order hideously colored rigs because he was colorblind; the colors looked good to him. Mike Muscat likes his "chicken in a blender" colors. Lew likes her orange and green freefly suits.

Skydivers care less about fashion than the people in most other sports that I've noticed. Indeed, it's only been the last ten years, with color-coordinated freefly teams on the cover of Parachutist and the like, that I've noticed that people care very much.

It's all about pictures. You need a jumpsuit that you can pick yourself out in the 100 way head downs, etc. Shiny suit and you can say "Here I Am!"
