windcatcher 0 #6 November 15, 2005 A helicopter at the American Boogie 2005. It was awesome to let go and feel the still air and quiet air all around me.... Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
GiaKrembs 0 #7 November 15, 2005 QuoteQuotenot to mention you don't know where you are going to land Most of the time you land on the ground. I mean it's not a controlled environment - like a landing area at the DZ. After my first balloon jump I completely understood the rush of bandit jumps! g Raddest ho this side of Jersey #1 - rest in peace brother Beth lost her cherry and I missed it .... you want access to it, but you don't want to break it. NWFlyer 2 #8 November 15, 2005 Haven't done a balloon yet (but hope to change that at the Eloy boogie)... heli at the Cinco Boogie was a lot of fun, though... it was my heli ride, too, and it's unnerving to be hanging your feet out the side of the heli going "okay, okay, this is fun but I'll feel a lot better when I'm at a non-BASE deployment altitude.""There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
homer 0 #9 November 15, 2005 I did jump from the side door of a C5 once. That was cool. I was doing a rear float on this 5-way from a C206 and on exit I turned into the wind and grabbed the person next to me. I slid onto there back and rode them for a moment or two, tapped them on the tummy then pushed them away like used goods and went to build the base. They weren't happy with me when we got on the ground. CSA #699 Muff #3804

The DC3 jumps are pretty fun as well; especially when someone shoves you out backwards g Raddest ho this side of Jersey #1 - rest in peace brother Beth lost her cherry and I missed it .... you want access to it, but you don't want to break it. livendive 8 #18 November 15, 2005 Bandit balloon jump (saw it flying, chased it down, begged). The quiet is unnerving. Glider. Again, for the quiet, and the coolness of standing out there in the wind. Helicoptors are pretty fun, but unless there's an e-ticket ride involved the novelty kinda wears off. The story is true: the flight is better than the jump from it. Shit you not. This ride produced pure wood! (and I'm not talkin' the water-logged wood, I'm talkin' full up -right oak).______________________________________________ "...whatever stands against freedom must be set aside, be it ritual or superstition or limitation in any form." Peej 0 #22 November 16, 2005 Out of? A balloon over Perris Valley at six am. The sun was just coming up and we exited one by one from about 4.5 grand. Took a nice long delay then set up for a sick swoop over the landing area. Only to find out as i was on final that the sprinklers were on! It was also my fondest memory of Duane Thomas, we miss you dude! Off of? The Perrine. My first hand held off of there was sick!
