Totally agree......except in the case of The Remains of The Day. And it was so weird, because I only saw previews and then read the book. I can honestly say that the casting was great.
Granted, I am well aware that this is more the EXCEPTION to the rule.

Trying to get tickets for our area IMAX too... it'll be the ONLY way to see this one properly!

I always end up making seeing the characters as real life versions of the cartoon sketches in the books anyway. I think it would be convenient to have a picture and mannerisms to associate with what you're reading. As long as the movie is done well, and in this case, they generally are.
