Superman32 0 #1 November 17, 2005 I was just looking at the list of threads and how many times they have been read, so... Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #2 November 17, 2005 It depends on the forum. If it's about skydiving, then I tend to want to learn as much as possible. I try to open as much as possible, and I try to make sure that advice is coming from a reliable source. If you are talking about Bonfire or Women's, I do things differently in those forums. If I see a friend has begun a thread, then I usually open that thread first. If it's an interesting topic, then I go to those, next. If the thread is on fire or getting an ususual amount of posts, then I will open it to see what the big deal is about that thread. If I dislike someone's posts, then I usually skip the threads altogether. Still, it does tend to depend on my mood, more than anything. Sometimes, I don't care enough to read more or am not online, so I tend to miss a lot more than I used to on here.
JohnRich 4 #3 November 17, 2005 It varies. Sometimes it depends upon how much time I have available as to how much I'll look at. Short on time: highly selective. Lots of time: look at much more. If the thread title is meaningless and doesn't tell me what's inside - I almost always skip it. Otherwise, if the subject title shows interest, I'll look. If there is a picture attached, my odds of opening it increase, even if it's a dumb or meaningless thread title. If it's "on fire" or "locked", I'll look enough to see what the controversy is all about, but that doesn't mean I'll stay or return. Then there are people-oriented decisions. Certain people have opinions I value, and I'll always read their stuff. Other people are known for posting useless stuff, and I'll usually skip them. The only guaranteed way to get me to look at a thread is this: put "sex" in the title, and attach a photo...
homer 0 #4 November 17, 2005 I do the same Gia but almost always will open a thread if it has an attachment. Just curiosity more than anything especially if its a thread by Billy. CSA #699 Muff #3804

Did you just call me, Gia? OR ~ do you mean that you read all of her threads, like I do. narcimund 0 #8 November 18, 2005 There's one type of thread I know I just won't open. If the title doesn't say anything about the thread and ends in "...", I won't bother. It's never worth it. Some recent examples: "You know what..." "so... I have this bet..." "Have you ever had..." First Class Citizen Twice Over

Yep, if they want someone to read their stuff, they ought to give a clue what it's about. Few of us have the time to waste opening up every single thread.
