happythoughts 0 #30 November 15, 2002 Quote A snail got run over by a turtle, wakes up in the hospital and when asked what happened he says, "I don't know! It all happened so FAST!" A guy sees a snail on his front porch and picks it up and flings it out into the yard. Four months later there is a tapping on the door. He opens the door, looks down, there is the snail. The snail looks up and says "So what was that all about?".

freeflir29 0 #32 November 15, 2002 Quote Can you imagine eating a live slug? Yep....did that once. It was kind of a bet. See....I hadn't had any REAL food in about 7 days. The bet....I eat one big fat slug and I get an entire MRE. The slug went down OK but it took a while to get the slime off my tongue.
SudsyFist 0 #33 November 15, 2002 Quote and a HUGE smart-ass! i totally admit my smart-assedness (not my fault: genetic), but i have this serious soft spot when it comes to killing innocent little critters... visit mom, she freaks at a spider (kill it! kill it!), and i catch the little guy and throw him outside, ya know? i stepped on a snail in summer 2000, and it *totally* f'd me up for like a week! i'm not taking this one as hard, but it's still pretty brutal. bah. guess i'll have to get my mind off it and go jumping today, hm? the weather's FANTASTIC! steve
happythoughts 0 #34 November 15, 2002 Quote Quote I stepped on a slug in my bare feet the other night. It was cold and mushy. Slimy, would be more descriptive! Can you imagine eating a live slug? If you are having a bad day, try this. Find a slug, pick it up and lick it. It will be so disgusting that the rest of your day will shine in comparison. I think that therapists should give that out as advice.

Schroeder 0 #40 November 15, 2002 It always makes me laugh when meat eaters have such reservations about killing certain living things. For some people, their crusades are Dogs and Cats, or Horses, or Lady bugs, or frogs, baby birds, deer, what have you. I don't know ya sudsy, but if you're a vegan/vegetarian like myself, I'd understand your feelings. I just picture the average 16yearold school girl who will get in an accident trying to avoid hitting a cute fox, but goes right out later and has a nice big burger. compassion reserved for certain species is a funny thing. SudsyFist 0 #44 November 19, 2005 Quotei just stepped on a snail I was deeply saddened again in December last year when I accidentally stepped on another one. It was dark, and there was no way I could've seen it, but it still shook me, poor little thing. The good news, though, is that in the three years since this post, that was the only one. And I'm being extra extra extra careful to make sure I don't ever do it again.
