Bwahahaha. You probably just gave Steve a good laugh! No, do not take most of Sudsyfists's post seriously. He's great fun to be around, and a HUGE smart-ass!

Ah! That explains it, and I fell right into it:S. Thanks for letting us know that, and I hope he does get a good laugh!

A snail got run over by a turtle, wakes up in the hospital and when asked what happened he says, "I don't know! It all happened so FAST!"

A guy sees a snail on his front porch and picks it up and flings it out into the yard. Four months later there is a tapping on the door. He opens the door, looks down, there is the snail. The snail looks up and says "So what was that all about?". >:(

i totally admit my smart-assedness (not my fault: genetic), but i have this serious soft spot when it comes to killing innocent little critters... visit mom, she freaks at a spider (kill it! kill it!), and i catch the little guy and throw him outside, ya know?

i stepped on a snail in summer 2000, and it *totally* f'd me up for like a week! :( i'm not taking this one as hard, but it's still pretty brutal.

bah. guess i'll have to get my mind off it and go jumping today, hm? the weather's FANTASTIC! B|

I stepped on a slug in my bare feet the other night. It was cold and mushy.

Slimy, would be more descriptive! Can you imagine eating a live slug? [:/]

If you are having a bad day, try this. Find a slug, pick it up and lick it. It will be so disgusting that the rest of your day will shine in comparison. ;) I think that therapists should give that out as advice.

I don't think so................

It always makes me laugh when meat eaters have such reservations about killing certain living things. For some people, their crusades are Dogs and Cats, or Horses, or Lady bugs, or frogs, baby birds, deer, what have you. I don't know ya sudsy, but if you're a vegan/vegetarian like myself, I'd understand your feelings.
I just picture the average 16yearold school girl who will get in an accident trying to avoid hitting a cute fox, but goes right out later and has a nice big burger.
:S:S:S
compassion reserved for certain species is a funny thing.

You live in WA no wonder you hate slugs. They grow to be the size of elephants out here!!!!

R

They certainly do, and they eat all my prized plants! I since learned to plant what they don't eat. Now if they would just chomp on the grass, I wouldn't have to mow it!:D

Me too! I don't kill ANYTHING...I capture it and put it outside. The girl's at work all scream for me when there's a bug in their office.

Poor BZ hit a bird last weekend. I started crying and he felt soooo bad seeing me cry. Ha ha ha...SUCKER!
Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

i just stepped on a snail :( :( :(

[:/]

I was deeply saddened again in December last year when I accidentally stepped on another one. It was dark, and there was no way I could've seen it, but it still shook me, poor little thing. :(

The good news, though, is that in the three years since this post, that was the only one. And I'm being extra extra extra careful to make sure I don't ever do it again. :)

Sometimes there are slugs outside my apartment... they're icky :P

When I lived up near Viking, we had slugs and snails practically everywhere when it was wet outside. They are, indeed, icky, but they also express yet another facet of nature's grace, gentle and articulate. :)

You might want to come over to my house and take all the snails away before I do something evil to them. They're cute and all, but the little bastards kill my plants. And I'm probably going to have even more of them at our new house, because it has a fish pond and a big fountain that will attract them.

Wow, I'd be glad to! I can help them find a new home in the wild where they can flourish in their natural habitats, and not encroach on your garden. I'll be in the area tomorrow; will you be around?

Glad to be of help! :)

You mean to say you ruined a perfectly good escargo' ? Should have ate it with some butter and garlic.

I've always wondered - can you add salt to escargot? I mean, look at what salting a snail does when it's alive. Does the same thing happen to the dead snail?

My wife is hotter than your wife.

Actually, I will be packing tomorrow, and not harming any of the little snail folk. We'll be moving into our new house during the next week... Give me a call if you feel like stopping by, but you may want to wait on taking the snails, until we get into our new house (I don't really care about the ones that are here anymore) - I think we'll have a lot more of them at the new place, and it would be kinda fun to scoop them all up and take them to a new home! :)
