kansasskydiver 0 #1 November 19, 2005 Anyone have any suggestions? I've always wanted to go and mark it off my list of things to do. Anyone have any advice, to convince me to go?<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
thegreekone 0 #2 November 19, 2005 go, do it, RIGHT NOW. things happen so quickly there, you can practically see it change before your very eyes. doesn't matter what you need, what your interests are, or what you are into....it is available there, all the time. The DEFINITIVE urban experience. food, shopping, partying, history....and access to everywhere else in asia, quickly and cheaply. go east, young man! TheAnvil 0 #7 November 19, 2005 Dear God I love that city. Been there quite a bit, both pre and post handover. Not sure if I'd make the trip to Asia just to see Hong Kong, however. Hmm...things to do....a trip up to Victoria Peaks is a must - the view from up there at night is fantastic; during the day as well. Shopping in Aberdeen market is always pretty good. A drunken night in Wanchai is probably a given. Lun Kwai Fun (spelling? been too long) is a good place to drink as well. Don't miss walking around Kowloon to shop. The Star Ferry is a nice way to get between HK and Kowloon - rather cheap as well. Delaney's Irish Pub in Kowloon used to be a great place for lunch. Have fun if you go! Sometimes late at night, the cabbies pretend not to speak English, though. What I used to do is snag a card from the hotel so I could show it to them. You'll have a good time - I'd recommend visiting elsewhere in Asia on the same trip. Thailand perhaps. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
