RevJim 0 #1 March 22, 2005 Saw it yesterday with the whole family. Loaded with both high and low brow humor, and there's plenty of laughs in there where the kids look at you like "Why the F@#k are they laughing?" See it, people. It's AWSOME!It's your life, live it! RevJim 0 #3 March 22, 2005 Quote You'll love it, Val, and so will they! Oh, yea, like almost all the movies out today geared toward kids, it has a good moral story too, it just uses plenty of laughs to get it across! It's your life, live it! demoss99 0 #4 March 22, 2005 Took my niece's to see it this weekend. We all loved it. And you're right - several places within the film where the only laughter you hear is coming from the adults for the humor that just skips off the kids - haha. Great little flick. Vallerina 2 #5 March 22, 2005 Quoteit has a good moral story too, I'm the aunt. I'm not supposed to teach them things other than how to do flips on the bed, where the cookies are and the lyrics to "Ice Ice Baby." Conundrum 1 #7 March 22, 2005 I thought it was mediocre which is odd because I do digital animation and usually love animated films. It started out really good, there were some really classic funny parts, then as it got into the story I found myself wanting the movie to end. Overall it was just ok. The animation and texturing was fabulous, though.
missg8tordivr 0 #8 March 23, 2005 That was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. The amount of hidden humor in that movie is amazing. Anyone paying attention to the signs in the movies?? Did you see the bathroom signs.....I about lost it when I saw the symbols!!! Great movie!!! Brightened up my day *** F LORIDA! flyingferret 0 #9 November 21, 2005 I am resurrecting this thread, since I just saw the movie. I had not watched it yet, based on some reviews from friends (which I think are now going in the if-they-don't-like-it-i-will-and-vice-versa column) I loved this movie. I just wrote a review for netflix and don't feel like retyping it...forgot to save. In in all the amount of cleverness in this movie amazes me. Might be too much for some, note this review: "For the postmodern grown-up, it will double as a vigorous spot-the-reference workout. The wink to Kubrick, I'm pretty sure, will whiz over the average 5-year-old head, as will the Brazilian wax reference and the extended allusion to death camps. But nods to Star Wars and Britney Spears are crowd-pleasers. Still, if I'm going to get beaned by this many free-floating cultural references, I'm going to need a helmet." However, personally I loved it. I was surprised and chuckley to hear the brazilian wax reference. There are also multiple visual parodies that you would totally miss if you look away from the movie 5 seconds. All it all, I thought this was a very witty comedy.-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
sinker 0 #10 November 21, 2005 i saw it twice when it first came out on IMAX here in nashville... it's overwhelming in IMAX>>>truly. my wife and i rented it this weekend. don't think the kiddies will see it yet, they're 9 and under, and it's got a bit of inuendo that we're uncomfortable with at their ages. but still, a marvelous movie. visually stunning. good message too, on several levels. -the artist formerly known as sinker
