seejanefall 0 #1 November 21, 2005 So as my husband and I get ready to host a very small dinner on Thanksgiving, just two guests. We made a very clear point to have these guests be from our skydiving family instead of our regular families. Is anyone else out there doing the same thing, on purpose or by accident? Ours was on purpose. _____________ PMS #

NWFlyer 2 #3 November 22, 2005 I'm having friends over, not because I don't like spending Thanksgiving with my family, but because traveling all the way across the country on the busiest travel weekend of the year isn't my thing."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
Vectracide 0 #4 November 22, 2005 The only way I wil be able to get thru the Thanksgiving is to either get fukin blotto, or grind up some narcotics and put them in my motherinlaws gravy. Anyone here have an in-law that has mental issues.....for real? Mine is fucking nutz. I hate holidays just because of this. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate..... morningdove831 0 #5 November 22, 2005 Will be spending Thanksgiving with some skydiving friends. My son will be with his dad, and my family is too far away to travel at Thanksgiving and Christmas too. I'll go see them at Christmas. I get to leave bright and freakin' early the next morning (be at the airport at 4:30, yikes). My husband doesn't "do" left overs as he and the kiddies are staying behind. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

On a smaller scale, one of the reasons we decided to not go to a family holiday in town & to not travel to a family holiday out of town. Skydiving family is family anyway. _____________ PMS #

rehmwa 2 #11 November 22, 2005 QuoteIs anyone else out there doing the same thing, on purpose or by accident? Ours was on purpose. Just not going home. Staying here with my wife and daughter. I love the rest of my family, we just have little in common at all. If they were strangers, it would stay that way. My older brother is cool enough, though, but a different generation. ... chuck.reilly 0 #12 November 22, 2005 We're doing the same thing. We've invited a couple of friends from the DZ to share Thanksgiving with our families. We warned them prior to the invitation that our families put the "FUN" in dysfunctional and they still agreed to come.....it's got to be the free food and booze they're after. ----------------------------------- "There are two kinds of skydivers in this world, the kind that skydive to enrich their lives and the kind that skydive to define their lives.
