AggieDave 6 #1 November 23, 2005 Well, tonight I was reminded why it cost $10. The top looks good, the sides look good, but I'll be damned if I can fade the hair between the top and sides with a pair of clippers on my own head. That's where barbers make their money right there. The top of the head is a cinche, the sides and back is a cinche, the part in between is really hard to do...atleast while holding a mirror behind your head and trying to do it yourself. Ok, its not bad actually, if it was my wife would have said something besides "it looks good." She would have laughed at me or told me to put a hat on, or something. Are there any barbers, hairdressers or others in the hair profession that would care to let us in on your secret to the spot between the side and top of your head?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." monkycndo 0 #6 November 23, 2005 I tried it myself as well. Looked like hell. Ended up just using a #3 guide and buzzing it the same length completely. Over time kept cutting it shorter and shorter. Today it is a razor and shaving cream. Now my avatar looks like ----->50 donations so far. Give it a try. There's a little "swoop" thing that you do with the clippers to fade the cut. You start out with the comb against the skin, and then you lift the tip of the comb as you come up. Barbers do the same sort of thing to get the fade...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
