AggieDave 6 #5 November 24, 2005 Ahhh...Weather "we install a crapload of spyware and screw your computer" bug. I used to have it on my computer when it first came out and didn't think anything of it. I installed it on a rebuild of my system about a year ago and learned of all the other random stuff they install with it now.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I was led to believe AdAware was pretty reliable
AggieDave 6 #7 November 24, 2005 Its not spyware spyware, its the ads it constantly updates with, its the extra crap that it does within the program that brings your system resources down...maybe there's a newer version that doesn't do that.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Lindercles 0 #8 November 24, 2005 the version i'm running is almost two years old and i haven't had any problems. but i've updated my system a few times since then. AIM is what's really starting to annoy me lately. It's had ads for a while, but lately the ads have started talking to me and taking up half my screen. they've got a strangle hold on us and now they're starting to screw us. eeneR 3 #10 November 24, 2005 And that my friend is why trillian rocks.. No ads...I hated that about AIM...She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
Lindercles 0 #11 November 24, 2005 is that an AIM client, or completely different? I ran GAIM for a while and it worked just was well, I may actually switch back.
AggieDave 6 #12 November 24, 2005 Its an AIM client, but doesn't run off the actual AOL AIM engine, it uses its own, it also runs IRC, MSN and ICQ...all at once in the same list.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Yup. 1966779 That's my old ICQ number, I'm not sure if it still works or not though...even though I did use it through about 2001, then gave up and went to AIM since no one I knew still ran ICQ.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
