freeflyflunky 0 #1 November 28, 2005 I am. Unfortunately. I am a snow "refugee" (using that term very loosely, I know.) Stuck in the middle of freakin' Nebraska at at "shelter." The interstate is closed - the hotels are full, So I'm with about 75 other smelly travelers in a little church. It could be worse I guess. I could not have just figured out that they have wireless_______________________________________ Oh, and one more thing...Ninjas ARE way cooler than pirates. Lindercles 0 #2 November 28, 2005 unfortunately i am. i've gotta be at work in less than 7 hours, but there's still a couple of shots left in the bottle, so i'll be up for a little while longer. i take it there's a particularly bad storm going through? where you traveling to? freeflyflunky 0 #3 November 28, 2005 Wow. Sorry to insta-reply....but I am soooo bored! Most of my fellow refugees are asleep on church pews at the moment (except for one really annoying trucker.) Anyway, glad I'm not the only one awake. We were heading towards Omaha from Wyoming. There's some really nasty stuff out there at the moment, the interstate is actually closed! This is actually the second night in a row that we've been snowed in. Last night it was in northern Wyoming - but they at least had enough hotel rooms. It really could be worse though...we saw ten cars in the ditch (including a state patrol car) and we heard of at least one fatality. I guess I really shouldn't complain about my present situation._______________________________________ Oh, and one more thing...Ninjas ARE way cooler than pirates. Lindercles 0 #4 November 28, 2005 wow, sounds like things are pretty bad. i guess you should count yourself lucky that you made it to shelter at all. not trying to rub it in or anything, but just to relate my own situation... It's 1am on November 28 and it's 60 freaking degrees oustside. i've got all my windows open and i'm sweating. this sucks! i've been wearing shorts all week, including on thanksgiving day. I know things could be worse, but still, it's pissing me off. it's not supposed to be this warm in late november.
bob.dino 1 #5 November 28, 2005 It's just about 6pm here on a fairly iffy day weather-wise. In Australian terms, iffy means rain and 17C. Tomorrow should be 25C . Hope the smelly trucker shuts up soon...
freeflyflunky 0 #6 November 28, 2005 Um... you suck. I think I'm going to try and crash on the floor now, and I'll attempt to dream about what it must be like to live in a state where 60 degrees at night in late November is crappy weather. Oh, MS Word is fine, the way a Ford Taurus is fine, but WordPerfect is definitely superior.
 Andy9o8 2 #23 November 28, 2005 QuoteI'm up. For the record, OpenOffice is not yet up to scratch.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
