Still Stranded

Recommended Posts

Yep. I'm still a snow "refugee" stuck in the middle of freakin' Nebraska.

There are 52 other people stuck with us in this small little church in Gothemberg, NE. Guess the road is closed for the next 70 miles. I can honestly say that I have never wanted to be in Omaha so bad ...what I wouldn't give to be able to order a pizza right now instead of eating crusty donuts and cereal with all the other "refugees."

We will probably be stuck here tonight too. I'm going to go stake out a good comfy church pew a little earlier tonight;)

(By the way, I don't know if my work really believes I'm stranded -- so anyone reading this that knows where I work -- feel free to call them tomorrow morning and validate my story:)

Clear in Lincoln huh?

Well, I hope all this misery heads your way soon.

Wait, that wasn't very nice... sorry, it's just that I've been fighting with the other refugees for leftover church chili and I'm getting a little rowdy...If anyone tries to take my sleeping bag again tonight -- I might have to use that homemade shiv.

That trucker guy still with you

Yeah...he's playing checkers with some college student from Wisconsin. I think I heard them discussing Tolstoy -- so, maybe I misjudged him a bit...

I'm sure that by the end of this misadventure, I'll know his whole lifestory. I think I've already talked to all the interesting looking people -- so it will be on to the second tier soon.

But you've got internet access in a church. That's pretty cool.

Hope you get moving soon.

Hey, I'm stranded in a church too in the middle of Nebraska. A church which also happens to have wireless, which doesn't make much sense to me. I keep seeing a dark and mysterious ninja-like figure sneaking around and stealing other people's donuts. I thought I saw it a few minutes ago at my laptop playing Texas Hold 'Em online. But when I looked back again it was gone and all that was there was a few donut crumbs and a ring from a coffee cup. Filthy ninjas. I'm going to have to rely on my pirate skills to commandeer some chili or something, and then after I have a snack.......................

BOOM! WHIZZAK!

Ninja'd......

(a scuffle ensues)

KAPOW!

PIRATE STYLE!!!

Who will prevail??????
tune in after the next road report, same dz.com channel, same dz.com stranded in a church thred

So I'm stuck here with the Pirate, and we got to talking about this whole stranded thing... mainly about who among the people that we know would be the best people to be stranded with (since we're obviously getting on each other's nerves....)

Anyway, after eliminating most of our non-skydiving friends for being too boring, we had to eliminate most of our skydiving friends for being too rowdy (although there are five drunk U of W students holed up in the choir room right now;)) Obviously, that doesn't leave many people that I'd like to be stuck with ... which kinda made me wonder if anyone would really want to be stuck with me...

Which brings me back to the pirateB|.

I tricked him into leaving the room (so I could use the computer ) by telling them they had cookies down in the fellowship hall...bwaaah ha ha!!!

P.S.

Someone just eyed my pillow...if he tries to take it, I may just have to bust out some Ninja style (true, he's like seven...but things are tough here in the shelter....)

Ninjas, pirates, and donuts are boring... cut to the chase: have y'all defiled any relics yet? Made good use of the candlewax or communion media?

My goal would be to get busy in the baptism pit...

Oh, now there is a reason to start going back to church.:)

No major defilements yet.... although if we have to stay another night, who knows;)

While I was changing this morning - Joel realized he'd never seen any nudity in a church - so that was a fun moment for him. Slightly inappropriate though:P
