JohnMitchell 16 #2 November 29, 2005 Don't think they did that too much, but they did grow up at the DZ, mostly playing on the creepers and the hanging harnesses. We had lots of little DZ playmates for them. I think they spent their time pretending to do normal stuff, like shopping at the mall or buying Starbucks, whatever it is whuffos do on nice Saturdays. lisamariewillbe 1 #3 November 29, 2005 Yes, one uses a towel or blanket, and Cody I think he is trying to learn how to land without a chute so I consider him the little birdman... he just freefalls to the floor... gives me a heart attack when I walk in on that....Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

GrendelKhan 0 #5 November 29, 2005 When I was 7 I broke both my legs jumping out of a tree with a big black trash bag. I had watched a movie called A Bridge Too Far and decided I wanted to be a paratrooper, so I found the biggest bag and the highest tree I could and fell into neighborhood infamy. Scoop 0 #7 November 29, 2005 I used to climb onto the arms of the sofa and jump in the air and land in the middle for fun. Except one time, climbing up the arm of the chair I slipped and insted of falling onto the chair I fell into the glass coffee table head first and nearly cut my lip off. Still. These surgeons are pretty awesome!
noblesmelissa 0 #8 November 29, 2005 My 4 year old has a better arch than me when we practice on the carpet... Also, my kiddos walk into the room and say "why are you watching that skydiving video AGAIN?"

Both your legs, what a bummer! Heh, I did the trash bag from the roof thing, but it didn't work out for me either... however I stayed in tact _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

I used a toy parachute that my sister's Airborne paratrooper BF gave her and went from the apex of the roof. The chute didn't make it but I survived with only losing my wind for a few minutes....and then my sister kicked my ass. Lesson learned: Don't mess with Sis's stuff. virginflyer3 0 #13 November 30, 2005 Yes, but not using anything to break the fall. It stops my heart everytime I walk in and see the absolute abandonement she puts into it followed by the inevitable thud and shreek of joy (no tears yet I am happy to report). I will have to teach her a PLF because at this rate I'll be needing a triple heart bypass.
Derekbox 0 #14 November 30, 2005 I did, was about 5 I think. Out my bedroom window. Got in trouble when my mom noticed I kept running in the house, but never left. When asked what the hell I was doing I told her I was practicing escaping if we had a fire and I couldnt use the hall way. Didnt fly to well, neither did the trash bag come to think of it. Ironically enough I am quickly approaching the wing loading I had under the bag. ;) D'Bo

My son when he was 3 got a superman cape from grandma for xmas. He proceeded to jump off the 4th step with it on. After slamming off the door at the bottom of the stairs he got up and said 'Hrm, must have run out of gas' I bought a mini-backpack which looked a lot like my Mirage G3. I just caught him before he jumped of the stairs, wearing the backpack which was packed with a towel. I'm not sure what his wingloading would have been. Tink1717 2 #16 November 30, 2005 I jumped from the roof of my treehouse with a beach towel connected with kite string to a life jacket. I didn't get hurt (I don't know how), but had my first malfunction before I had my first skydive. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway...
