OMGosh---I feel your indecision;)

I love the tile throughout our house---REALLY dislike the kitchen tile. I knocked over a very full glass of red in the kitchen that not only splattered all over the fridge, oven and everything else, but completely stained all the grout in the kitchen---BLACK. Apparently, it wasnt' sealed. I seriously contemplated ripping out all the tile (a major project). Thankfully, a fresh layer of grout took fine and I sealed it.

What a pain!>:(

I wish I saw this last night! I could have helped! Having been in the wine business for the last 14 plus years, I have a few tricks. One is rock salt. (or regular salt if your in a pinch- pinch, get it? hehe..eh) If you pour rock salt on the carpet all over the wine immediately it soaks up most of the stain. Don't ask me how because I really don't know. Anyway, you let it sit for an hour or so then you vaccum and start scrubbing with a brush and warm soapy water.

The stuff that someone else posted called "Wine Away" works the best though. Everyone should have a bottle of that laying around. Including me.

WineAway is awesome. I once had a full bottle of red wine explode when I used a CO2 opener on it...right next to a white carpet, and I've dumped a very full glass of red wine on my mom's white couch. In both cases, Wine Away took care of the stains in minutes.

Good choice! Add a touch of Listerine for that extra little tangy taste.:|

pour white wine on the stain and let it sit for 10 min then suck it up with a wet vac and do it again and again till the stain is gone..

then just clean the carpet.

That's just an old wives tale. lol

It's like pouring tea on your coffee stain. ;)

the lay on the stain naked idea is a great one (this is user specific though -- I shouldn't lay on the stain naked, oh, I'd cover it up just fine, along with everything else and with my knees, there might be no getting up.

I found out that a professional carpet cleaner with a list of restaurant clients (read "cleans up some nasty s..t) can get out red wine puke. Or puke with red wine (4 or 5 different bottles), Veuve Cliquot, and some red sweet dessert bubbly (note the very red stain was on the BOSS's white living room rug.

Carpet Doctor made it go away -- thank you...
