livendive 8 #1 December 1, 2005 I like snow, and it's dumping outside right now. They're predicting a foot of new in the mountains, guess I'll be snowboarding tomorrow. Just thought you'd all be terribly interested. You may now continue with your regularly scheduled post-whoring. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" I was gonna hit the slopes, too. Once I figure out how to switch my new-to-me board from regular to goofy.

I went to 49 Degrees North last weekend, thinking Silver Mountain or Schweitzer sounds good this time. The new gear thing is going around...I got new boots and bindings, Roy got all new gear. Given the older stuff we were switching from, we were hurting with stiff, increased forward lean setups last weekend. Might hit Alpental at some point over Christmas break...maybe we could hook up there. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" I think my friend and I are just gonna hit Snoqualmie ... first time out for the season and we'll probably wuss out pretty quickly when our quads burn. Be interesting to see how good this board is. 2002 Burton Clash, looks to be in decent shape. I'm pretty much a newbie, so I just need something to hack around in for a couple of years till I get good enough to care. No snow here in the city... just cold, wet, drizzle. Is Snoqualmie (including Alpental) open yet? Summit East and Summit West are a little short and a bit too tame for my tastes, unless I'm drinking heavily. If I hit Alpental around Christmas, it'll probably be early, like a half day on Christmas Eve or maybe on the 26th. Also FYI - We're talking about a Richland Skysports outing to Red Mountain this winter, with a cabin 15 minutes from the lodge. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" West has been open for a couple weeks, I think. Alpental opens Friday. Central next week. I'm still new enough that Snoqualmie keeps me happy. Maybe this year I'll get out enough to get good enough that I'll get bored. The thing I forgot to do was to make sure I didn't bring any of the usual Seattle suspect weather back home. It is very grey and there is water falling from the sky. That is not supposed to happen. Wasn't ready. Haven't gotten around to getting the following yet: new gloves, scarve, hat, coat or snow brush. Was damn cold clearing off the car with my bare hands today. Think I need four new tires as well after driving in this today. More snow for Sat and Sunday headed our way. This is going to be an expensive weekend for me._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
