I've played HALO, wasn't impressed. It was a lame attempt to be as much fun as the first Quake.

That about sums it up for me. MS may be a software company, but their content is 100% pure unadulterated mediocrity. Even after they purchased Bullfrog they've turn out nothing but crap.

What MS is good at is marketing, so they do tend to sell reasonably well and make you feel good about what you bought. Until you realize it's mostly just hype and playing their games is just meh.

Presumably the marketing drones have influence over the high level decisions about game design like everything else at M$, so they create this wonderbread crud that nails the center of the market and sells reasonably well and is 100% retrodding over familiar ground.

Although I do suspect that the PS3 launch lineup will be even worse than the X360's is. Seeing as the PS3 is more of a departure from current game hardware architectures ... and the X360 launch lineup wound up including a bunch of regular Xbox games missing functionality that couldn't get ported to the new platform in time for the launch...

So the answer is...too soon to tell. When the PS3 is launched the X360 will just be getting its first quality titles, and it'll probably be a few months after that for the A+ material to hit the shelves for either console. Developers are still wringing hidden performance out of the PS2--just compare the smoothness & scale of GTA:SA vs GTA3 and God of War vs any other fighting game on the PS2.

My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?

I'm secretly hoping there's gonna be a sequel to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on the PS3. If it's like its predecessors but fully exploiting the PS3 technology, I'm afraid it's gonna pop an artery in my brain.

Didn't vote but since MS is taking over the f-ing world, I would probably go with the Xbox 360. . .of course my fave game is halo so that kind of explains things a bit. . .lol.

360 without a doubt, I suppose I am a little bit of a fanboy but in the theme of a debate I will let you know why.

The ps2 is not a superior console, the original controller is better without a doubt, but with the S controller the xbox is keeping up, with the advent of the shoulder buttons replacing black and white, the 360 will more than keep up.

Hardware wise the ps2 and xbox (1), didn't compare despite xbox going with x86 and the ps2 going arm the xbox was still more powerful, this time round the ps3 will have more power.

I don't however think this is important, why you ask? Its all about size (just ask skymama lol), but seriously the reason xbox1 failed to overtake sony was because the Japanese market (where most of the money is), wouldn't buy it because of its bulk, this time they have chopped it down and its much more manageable, the controllers are small enough for those little guys to get there fingers to the buttons etc.

The last thing that is a HUGE mistake from Sony is not adopting a centralised (yes thats an S in there for you americans) server for their online gaming services. XBLive have and nintendo revolution will, its going to improve online gaming beyond anything we have at the moment and sony are going to be stuck with a p2p based network that just isn't going to cut the mustard.

Anyway I have proved beyond doubt, that I am far too geeky
