Oooooo...I'm learning something here...maybe I should trash my religious jeans, socks and underwear.
Oh my poor brother...he dated a girl that dressed him every morning, dictated his haircut and gave him ettiquette classes...became a stranger to me.

My reality and yours are quite different.

I'm not a huge fan of chinos and collared shirts, they remind me too much of the jock crowd that runs at certain night clubs here in SA. No offence meant to anyone btw.
I think most people at the ad agency i work at dress kinda "party casual" for work and meetings. Here's a suggestion, try a nice pair of jeans and a smart t-shirt, even a collared t in a cool design with some snazzy sneakers and dress the whole thing up with a smart black suit jacket.
It doesn't sound super cool in words but the effect looks quite good.
I've worn the look to some smart/casual award shows this year and it's gone down quite well.

Hey !- We gotta TJ Maxx nearby, too! Also Kohls, a couple of shoe stores - hehehehe!
Definitely want to make a great impression - And since everyone sees me as a crazy skydiving grease monkey, I really want to show 'em how well I clean up, too. If I get any pics, I'll post 'em.

I think you should go wearing a nice pair of green, wide wale cords and a really cute Christmas sweater!!! Something with a big christmas tree or presents on it, maybe even a few jingly bells sewn on for good measure. Bwwwwaaaaaaaaah!!

Kohls is good too and if it's like our Kohls here, they are having a big Wednesday sale today.

I don't think you have to have a jacket, but if you are trying to make an impression for future promotions, it's always good. Otherwise slacks and a collared shirt are perfect. Make sure you pay attention to your socks matching your pant hem, wear a belt and make sure your shoes look spiffy, not beat-up.
