SkymonkeyONE 4 #1 September 29, 2005 I am a Harley guy, but am really pleased with some of the other american offerings these days. Glen (Vectorboy) and I both own Buells, so I figured I would post pics of mine (which I actually bought for Katie) to show off. It's a custom XB9S Lightning if you were wondering. I threw in pics of both of my bikes for shits and grins. Chuck
Ashtanga 0 #2 September 29, 2005 When did you get rid of the other one? You had a different bike when I was there. That was a couple of years ago though.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 September 29, 2005 I actually traded my FXR, The RedBone Express, for my bagger (the gold 2001 FLTR in the pics).
SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 September 29, 2005 On the same note, I was just trying to logon to the Buell forums (www.buelletinboard.com) and found out some fucking moron had hacked the site and disabled the forums! Unbelievable what some kids find amusing.
Peej 0 #5 September 29, 2005 The Buell rocks dude! Is the XB9S the latest model? I actually saw an ad for the latest Buell on a truck in the traffic this morning and was crazy for it. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
goose491 0 #6 September 29, 2005 But I thought Buell was Harley? Don't they come off as the "sport bikes made by Harley Davidson" ? Anyway, I'm a real fan of the different look they've got going on. The short stance and small angle of the forks, combined with the semi-naked/streefighter look? I think it's hot! Nice Bikes. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! jmpnkramer 0 #7 September 29, 2005 QuoteI actually traded my FXR, The RedBone Express, for my bagger (the gold 2001 FLTR in the pics). What is this Harley 101? All the explaination. Hooknswoop 19 #8 September 29, 2005 Buells kick ass. Their latest model, the adventure touring bike, is touted as the most reliable bike ever. The belt drive is supposed to last the life of the bike. Derek
sinker 0 #9 September 29, 2005 nice rides... I wish we'd see Buell make a serious effort at toppling the japanese crotch-rockets in AMA superbike... harley made a fairly good attempt a few years ago, duhamel actually led some laps of a few races... imagine that, a canadian leading all the jap bikes on a HARLEY. it was great to see. -the artist formerly known as sinker
katiebear21 0 #10 September 29, 2005 I didn't think I'd like the Buell but I love it. I haven't ridden it yet (I take the Rider's Course this weekend) but just sitting on it feels good. It doesn't put me leaning down (top heavy) like some of the Jap bikes I've sat on. Will let you now how I really like it after I actually get to ride it. SkymonkeyONE 4 #11 September 29, 2005 Buell is 51% owned by HD, but the bikes are entirely the mind-product of Erik Buell. The engine is a very-modified HD sportster engine, but makes over 25 hp more. The frame is made in Italy, as are the wheels. It's an angry little motorcycle. goose491 0 #13 September 29, 2005 Oh I see! Thanks for the info. Again, very cool bikes. I must admit the first time I saw a Buell, I thought it was ugly. But they have definately grown on me. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
SkymonkeyONE 4 #14 September 29, 2005 The oil tank is in the swingarm and the frame is the gas tank. What appears to be the gas tank on my bike is just a plastic dome that covers the K&N air filter and the ram air components. The bike is fuel injected and the velocity stack comes straight up through the middle of the frame.

I had an FZR400 in college many moons ago, very light bike (back when I was a lot lighter too), same deal... tank cover came off to reveal airbox and the gas tank was actually more central and lower, made side to side transitions alot easier... very cool, thanks for sharing pics w/ us... -the artist formerly known as sinker
SkymonkeyONE 4 #17 September 29, 2005 QuoteWhat did the angrybike $et you back? A complete steal at $5,900 USD with only 5,500 miles on the clock! It's an '03 model. I have spent around $500 total on the pipe (a Jardine RT-one), an open airbox, the bar-end mirrors, and the "pasta strainer eliminator" tail section.
