ZigZagMarquis 9 #27 April 24, 2008 Quote This is my first brand new canopy and I have heard about the horrors of packing a new canopy but I never thought it would be this bad. BEER!!!! Anyway, rest assured that you are on a path that all of us have traveled. It will get easier as your canopy wears in and as you get more proficient (experience). For the time-being, find someone that can get the beast into the bag and stick with what they show you. The reason I say that, is there are several ways to deal with brand new ZP and what confuses alot of folks new and old is trying to mix different techniques. Remember, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Good luck.

sparkie 0 #29 April 24, 2008 I almost broke into sweat just looking at that You might want to take it a bit easier with the "sausace"making, so you dont push lines back to the nose. Just take it slow, and place your hands/feet/knees carefully so it does not breathe too much. I had a brand new pilot 168 not too long ago, I can now claim that a sabre2 is much worse when new ;) enjoy your packing *cackle*

I hear what you are saying. I thought of that as well. One of the things you may have noticed is after the second time I press air out I pull the outside edges of the canopy and fold them back on top of the back side of the pack job ( to keep lines under control) and then press more air out. When I am "sausaging" I am more or less just pushing the outside tail material around and under while making sure not to push too much material inside the cocoon under as well. This is just to make sure that the tail is wrapped around tightly so that when I go to make my first fold I can keep a good grip on the canopy and not let it explode every where.
