Samurai136 0 #5 December 16, 2005 That facility look like it was built in Saudi Arabia. Some people think wanting to build a multi-million dollar indoor rainforest in Iowa is strange.... Ken"Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

skydiver51 0 #7 December 16, 2005 They had a documentary on Discovery about the construction of it. With all the oil money they have this is like building a neighborhood park.
jraf 0 #8 December 16, 2005 Yes, it is a present of Gorge W. Bush to the people of the persian gulf - check the gas prices lately? What George W. gave us here in the US of A is WalMart full of low quality Chinese goods. Nothing made in America.jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Nothing like having a big ass snow blower in the middle of the desert to let you know you have way too much money._________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap. Diversgodown 0 #11 December 16, 2005 Looks pretty damn gay to me! the least they could do is put some badass jumps on the run. If your going to do that short of a run over and over again at least you could practice some aerobatics!!! There was a run that short in Illinois Wimont and that's what I'd do just jump-ride up drink-jump ride up drink-jumpride up drink-jump and drink then jump-jump-jump drink. by the end of the day most of my jumps would end up with me on my ass. ***Glory Favors the Bold***
Remster 30 #12 December 16, 2005 There's one built in England as one poster mentioned. Also, one in Spain close to Madrid.Remster
swedishcelt 0 #13 December 16, 2005 I was just trying to figure out how long 170 metres long and 30 metres wide would compare to. I think it's only about 1/10th of a mile? That is very short!
Stumpy 284 #14 December 16, 2005 its ok if its all you have - the one in the UK (there are actually 2 but the tamworth one is rubbish) sometimes has big jumps put on it on experienced nights. I went once but wouldn't bother again - the comparison with the wind tunnel isn't quite right somehow.Never try to eat more than you can lift

ltdiver 3 #19 December 17, 2005 QuoteI was just trying to figure out how long 170 metres long and 30 metres wide would compare to. I think it's only about 1/10th of a mile? That is very short! Just my style! Believe it or not, I'm afraid of snow skiing. I can't snow plow (hurts my hips), so never really got off the bunny hill. (my first try at skiing was when I was 16 and it sucked). I've tried skiing 5 different times and failed miserably. Too cold. Snow too hard. Uncoordinated as hell. No fun. If this slope is easy, it just might be the ticket! That, or put a tandem drouge behind me and allow it to slow me down so much that I'd learn and have fun at the same time. Snow skiing is way -too- fast for me! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
