fireflytx 0 #1 December 15, 2005 I got a great gift from one of my students and I wanted to share it with you all, hopefully you can see in the attachment that I scanned from an 8 x 10 she gave to me. A little background on my student and friend, Lynn. She was the first woman to go through special forces and has traveled the world. And she is a brilliant girl, and definitely not religious. On one of her assignments she was sent to Bosnia, got shot at, and did do a little sight seeing in a town called Medugorje. If you know anything about this town it is known for many people seeing sightings and getting messages from the Virgin Mary. Lynn takes a picture of a plain cross that had nothing on it and it was really just some crappy pieces of junk put together to make a cross. When getting home she took it to a one hour photo place and all over the cross there are small images of the Virgin Mary and some sort of symbol at the top of the cross. What is really stange, some of the people with her took pictures of the same cross at the same time and the images do not appear in their pictures. I have attached the picture so you can all check it out and it is hard to make it out online but you should see the 8x10 in person, no doubt they look like the Virgin Mary. Whether or not you believe it is something real or something fake. I thought it was a pretty cool gift."Well behaved women rarely make history"

jtval 0 #6 December 16, 2005 IIRC on crosses there is a scoll at the top with some latin(?) letters INRI ( or something like that) it seems that someone would take the time to build a cross would add soem simple little thing like that. but Pop has a good quesiton. Where ar ethe other pics? Hey, I believe that things like this happen but too many hoaxes take the credit away from really odd shit that happensMy photos My Videos
ccowden 0 #7 December 16, 2005 She's a little bit of a story teller if she says she is in the Army Special Forces.
fireflytx 0 #8 December 16, 2005 I probably just have it wrong with whatever part of the military she was in, she a cool chick not the storytelling kind..... She has some poster signed by Demi Moore cause the producers of whatever the hell that movie was where she was bald and in the military followed Lynn around to base parts of Demi Moore's character on her - she even had the bald head. Lynn is leaving in March to go walk the whole Appalachian Trail. The girl has some serious stamina & determination I guessing from the military training she got. All I know is her job in Bosnia was to go in and speak to the locals and pretend she is Croatian (she speaks croatian and looks foreign) and get to the crash planes or trucks or whatever and get some kind of box out and run away while she was getting shot at. She is quite a girl and someone I have the highest respect for. I will have to ask her if she can get copies of the other pics."Well behaved women rarely make history"
ccowden 0 #9 December 16, 2005 I certainly am not doubting that she is quite a girl, and she may be part of some sort of Special Operations, but not Army Special Forces. I respect any fellow military service members.
pajarito 0 #10 December 17, 2005 GI Jane (Demi Moore) is complete "politically correct" fictitious bullshit. No offense... I can guarantee that she's not in Army Special Forces (Green Berets). I was on a team for 15 years. There are no girls. She might be in some PSYOP or Civil Affairs unit which also falls under the category of Special Operations Forces. Most of those guys (and girls) are loaded down with "Special Forces" stuff (patches, car tags, t-shirts, etc). They can be easily mistaken for the real deal. Many will tell you that they are. However, unless they've got that tab across their left shoulder, they aren't no matter how much they'd like for you to believe that they are. It's fun, though. Civilians don't usually know the difference. I'm sure she's cool, though.
