Computer Help?

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to upload an avatar or icon in my profile to be displayed when I post. (I'm really wanting to use a pic of my son). I use PhotoShop for all my photo editing; however, no matter how small I make the pic, this website says it is too big. Using PhotoShop, how do I get the image small enough? Any help is appreciated! Thanks ...

Too big pixel size, or too big file size?

If it's pixel size, then just reduce it to whatever the forum limits are on the "Image - Image Size" menu.

If it's file size, just go to "File - Save for Web", and then you can move the slider for Quality, and it'll tell you how big the file size will be. But I don't know what the forum limits are for that either!

Sure, take the easy route... ;)

The basic rule is the picture file must be less than 10 KB to be used as an avatar.

I know I have had to resize some pictures a few times to get them under the limit. It's a pain in the ass...
