Katzeye 0 #1 December 20, 2005 The Kiss... He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire. She is pregnant. When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman. He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this photograph. SkydiveStMarys 0 #3 December 20, 2005 How sweet is that!!?? I'll tell you what...dogs just "know"...you know what I mean? I'd take a rescued dog over a dog with a gazillion papers anyday! Diversgodown 0 #7 December 20, 2005 QuoteWould have sucked if he had died making that rescue. Wouldnt seem quite so nice and mushy Ya but he would've died doing what he loved and commited to. SkydiveStMarys 0 #8 December 20, 2005 Seems to me the fireman was doing his job. He chooses to risk his life everyday. He would be heartless to turn his back if he thought he had a chance to rescue the dog and didn't go for it. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. NlghtJumper 0 #9 December 20, 2005 Such a beautiful dog! I would love to take her in. I currently have 4 dogs, but have had up to 9 at one time. I loved it. I am more partial to huskys, labs, german shepards, rhodiesian ridgebacks, and rotties, but I would gladly take any dog! Scoop 0 #10 December 20, 2005 Haha. I wouldnt do it. I dont even chase people across live railways. Id rather live on to help other people another time. I can see my rational thinking isnt welcome here. So ill shut my mouth
SkydiveStMarys 0 #11 December 20, 2005 I have four too!! I have a lab/greyhound; golden/pitbull;aussie shepard; & rat terrier. All rescues. The Rat Terrier (never thought I would like a small dog, though she is NOT yappy, thank gawd) is the newest she wasn't going to stay with me, but she weasled her was into my heart. She is the smallest by far out of all of them but the personality is the biggest by far. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. shropshire 0 #12 December 20, 2005 It's a loverly picture and reminds me of our old Dobe (Amber), she was brown as well - loverly dog... But.. Snoopes has the following to say about the photo .... Sorry QuoteHowever, the text that now accompanies e-mailed versions of the photograph is inaccurate in suggesting that Cinnamon was "thanking" firefighter Clark for saving her life "by carrying her out of the house into her front yard." As Clark himself explained, he didn't rescue the dog, and his encounter with her was pure happenstance: We didn't do anything (special) to save Cinnamon. When we have a house fire, we have to do a primary search. There could be people home and inside. Our first major concern is life safety. That house was full of smoke and we couldn't see it very well. All I saw was a dog run out, and one was (already) in the backyard. I think Cinnamon got out the door herself. The dog approached me. As soon as I knelt down and took my mask off, Patrick was coming around the corner of the house and took the picture. (.)Y(.) Diversgodown 0 #13 December 20, 2005 IMO the dog is probably more worth saving than most people. at least the dog didn't shoot at him while he was trying to help!! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
Scoop 0 #14 December 20, 2005 But does the dog pay taxes which fund the fire department? Haha, I am joking so dont flame me. Its does remind me of that scene in Mr Deeds. QuoteWhat about me kitties!?

Katzeye 0 #20 December 20, 2005 Ya - I figured it was a Snopes thing, but still CUTE! In this case, I'm gonna ignore Snopes and pretend it was real! Who's to say that just the Firefighters entered the house, clued the confused dogs inside where the exit was! Thereby indirectly saving their lives and making *some* of the story true. - or - even if it wasn't a "thank you kiss" she still came over and gave some love to him! So maybe it was a "good job Tater" kiss. Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Scoop 0 #22 December 20, 2005 Yeah. or to make it an even better story. Maybe the firefighter passed out from heat exhaustion after battling the fire for over an hour and the dog dragged him out to safety Lassie style

SkydiveStMarys 0 #25 December 20, 2005 It really blows my mind when someone will pay hundreds of dollars for a dog. I have seen it time and time again. I have seen it happen also, that the dog that cost a gazillion dollars ups and croaks 6 months later due to this or that. I'm not against a pedigree dog, BUT there are so many dogs out their that need a warm loving home and would do just about anything for you to show their gratitude. It kills me to know that the Humane Society will have dogs housed on Christmas day and kills me even more that they will get an influx of "puppies" about 4 to 5 months after Christmas, because the "present" for lil Timmy keeps peeing in the house. My neighbors have gone thru several pedigree dogs, bought for hundreds of dollars only to get bored with them a month of so later and neglect them. They have left all sorts of dogs out in the rain and I have helped "rescue" two of these dogs. They have gone thru 7 to 10 dogs in the past three years. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr They are now down to 3 dogs. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
