Just a thought

Remember sometime the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.

Try to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly may be a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.

Remember, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) could be a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares .

Maybe the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together .

Remind yourselves each day that, of all the gifts you give, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.

Or at the very least try to be civil to one an other

Remember when you are rushing home from work that the 30 seconds you'll save getting home aren't that important, especially compared the the added headache you'll suffer if you cause an accident by driving crazy. As if you needed THAT in addition to all you're other problems.

It's the holidays, drive safely. :)

my point was that understanding goes both ways. no matter how shitty your life is, nobody else should have to deal with your shit.

I've been the person rushing home from work.

I have no tatoos, but i have piercings and I've been 19 years old and worried about finals and finances and having to make sandwiches for assholes.

none of that gives me the right to be shitty to other people either.

In essence, that was my way of agreeing with you entirely. I'm sorry that was not made more clear.

:)

I think you're overreacting a bit. C'mon!!!

Walt

I even made a public apology. Not sure what else I can do. :|

There was no need for any apology. Both of you had worthwhile things to say, the bottom line being, "People, be nice to each other, even if you're not really in the mood.".
