livendive 8 #5 December 24, 2005 Quotebeing a lifelong seattle fan (mariners and seahawks), i'm used to being let down. now i'm preparing another generation for a lifetime of disappointment. The last two years in baseball we've heard nothing but how long it's been since Boston and Chicago have seen championships. Hey, they still had the Bulls, Bears, Patriots, and Celtics!! I'm a Seattle fan...it's been since 1979 in ANY sport (1991 co-championship and last year's WNBA championship just don't cut the mustard). With all the talk going on about the Seahawks this year, I've actually found myself in the "Well, I guess it's theoretically possible" mode, which is wierd for me. I'm accustomed to massive failure dammit! Do I really want to get my hopes up again? 2001 Mariners - case in point. 1995 Mariners were still fucking sweet though. Cute kid too. sundevil777 102 #6 December 24, 2005 I left Seattle in July of 1995, before they the Mariners had their first winning season! Eight years of going to the Kingdome and I had to leave before they got it together. Remember when the Seahawks won their division with a .500 season?People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
TrophyHusband 0 #7 December 24, 2005 this may finally be our year, at least to make it to superbowl if not win it. i believe that our only obsticle will be the giants if we have to play them. it is very likely that the colts will be in the superbowl. i actually wish that they had won last week so tomorrow we would see what we're up against. right now though there's no reason for them to risk injury to their starters. seattle should put up another w and clinch home field advantage. ACMESkydiver 0 #8 December 24, 2005 We'll take it all-the-way this year!!! -And if we end up in play-offs against the Giants, my household will fall into the deepest, darkest chasm of hell no matter who wins... BillyVance 35 #9 December 24, 2005 You wait and see what happens to the Seahawks this year. They play Indianapolis at home this week. I think they've got a good chance of beating the Colts. Or at least it will be a good game and a preview of this season's Super Bowl game... Alexander's my man! Right from my favorite college, the U. of Alabama!! TrophyHusband 0 #11 December 24, 2005 Or at least it will be a good game and a preview of this season's Super Bowl game... i wish it were a preview, but it won't be for three reasons. first, the colts have nothing to play for, so we will likely see very little of their starters. second, they're coming off a lost so momentum is on our side. third, their head coach's son was found dead af suicide yesterday morning. that alone has to have their heads fucked up. that said, they are still a good team and it won't be a walk in the park, but the bottom line is that the colts that will play tomorrow won't be the same team that's been playing all year, nor will it be the same team that will be playing in the post season. Your prediction was on the mark. Manning only played one quarter. You kind of knew the Colts were holding most of their stars out since they'd already clinched home field advantage through the playoffs just like the Seahawks. I dunno how good the Colts will play in the post-season, or if they really have their heads screwed on right for a run to the Super Bowl. I think it depends on when Coach Dungy returns. I'd bet on Seattle going to the Super Bowl this time though. They seem to have everything going well for them, and they've got the easiest path through the play-offs since all of their opponents have at least a 3 hour flight to Seattle. All that traveling takes a bit of the edge off a visiting team... TrophyHusband 0 #13 December 25, 2005 i think you're right about a seattle superbowl. i think the colts will get their heads straight if not by next week, certainly by playoffs. there's only so long you can emerse yourself in a tragedy before you just have to get back to life. i would be surprised dungy wasn't back for next week. for seattle i'm predicting that we'll see very little of hasslebeck, and i think holmgren will let #37 get one touchdown to set a new record and then pull him. it still should be an easy win.
