Vertifly 0 #1 December 27, 2005 How many hours in a day do you ACTUALLY work? If I had to guess, I'd say my average DZ.Com time probably matches closely with ACTUAL work time. Even though I don't post that much anymore - reading is just as cool. It is slow today, but a good guestimate for this week is 10 hours for a total of 40 hours this week. Today, I search the web...bought a mattress, went to skydiving movies and downloaded some old and new vids, shopped for a curio cabinet and a rug, went onto other discussion forums...... .....then my company feads me lunch for free. They even had fresh Christmas cookies and pastries, I went and took a shit then actually contemplated going back to rub one out, took a walk through the computer room, ate some more cookies, and now I am just waiting for the bell to ring. After work, I get to drive home in my audi. Maybe I'll stop off on the way home and buy a new video game or something. UUgggggHHH! It's f%$#@N sad. I feel bad. There are people out there flipping burgers for 12 to 14 hours a day that make like 10% what I do. That is fucking bullshit America right there. Sure, I went to school and stuck it out to get here....but shit, this is ridiculous. I thought in the beginning that I'd wind up being some research scientist to make this kind a money. WTF? Are you an average paid worker with average hours?...I mean, how often does pay match work out there. Doctors are even in the same boat. Some work their asses off and don't get paid shit cause of all the insurance they have to pay. And some make a ton and only do paperwork. My brain is turning into mush. Thanks, dropzone.com and everyone here, for giving me a suitable amount of literature to get me through my everyday. Shhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!!!! Rant over. simplyputsi 0 #2 December 27, 2005 Hours??? try minutes cuz I'm sure that is what it breaks down to for me. Sometimes I might break into the hour mark, but not often. I had this discussion with some friends the other day. All of us have Corporate America jobs and we are mostly not working most of the day. It's the American way I suppose. Sometimes I wish I had a job where I had to think or be busy all day. Of course I'm sure that could get old if I didn't enjoy it. One day I'll find the job for me, for now I'll get paid to sit around and ACT like I'm working.Skymama's #2 stalker -
Icon134 0 #3 December 27, 2005 My current job is as a student... (and yes I am getting paid to be a student...) But my "job" has had its busy times and its slow times. There are days I'm busy non-stop for 24+ hrs and days that I'm killing time all day.. and since I'm effectively Salary (w/no Overtime Options) & can Hypothetically be asked to be on duty 24/7... I figure I'm not making all tha much... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
